The Reference Grammar Of Baishi Bai Language

This dissertation is a reference grammar study on BaiShi Vernacular,a nouthern dialect of the Bai language.The Phonological system,morphology and syntactic system and discourse structure are mainly discussed here.This dissertation is consists of eleven chapters.Chapter One offers an introduction,including a brief introduction of Baishi Bai language,the research purpose and significance of this subject,the theory and method.Review of the past linguistic researches on the Bai language is covered.Chapter Two makes a short description of the BaiShi Vemacular-speaking nationality.It refers to the geography,social situation and history and language situation of Yunlong and Baishi.Chapter Three describes the initials,finals,tonic systems and syllable structure and analyses the phonetic changes of the Baishi Bai languageChapter Four:word-building process of Baishi Bai language.This section consists of affixation,compounding and tetrasyllbaie.Chapter Five give a particular description on noun,pronoun,demonstrative,numeral,quantifier,verb,adjective,adverb,preposition,conjunction,particle,and interjection,respectively.And an analysis on grammatical feature has been given in each section.In ChaPter Six,the phrasal structure of Baishi Bai language is discussed here has been divided into noun phrases,verb phrases,adjective phrases,proposition phrases and numeral phrases,among which the constituents and the order are emphasized.Which to be discussed in the Chapter Seven,Eight,and Night is surrounding syntactic aspects of the language.Chapter Seven concerntrates on five simple clause types:declarative sentences,interrogative sentences,imperative sentences and exclamatory sentences.Chapter Eight:.This section puts stress on the semantic types and construction features of copula clauses,negative sentences,disposal sentence,passive sentences and comparative sentences.Chapter Night:complex and compound clause types.Chapter Ten:By analysis of the description of Baishi Bai language and comparing with other dialect of Bai language,this dissertation makes a conclusion on the grammar features of Bai language.First,sound system of the structure of the comparison,presumably,fastest sound system changes of Erhai lake area,the change of the Nujiang river basin the slowest,the oldest,the Lancang river basin is between the other two area,has the characteristics of transitional.Second,Bai language pronunciation inflectional word formation reflects the structure of word order in the early stages and the process of development.Chapter Eleven:Conclusion.
