In the context of globalization, Western culture intends to colonize forcefully, while native culture strives to continue its development. As the carrier of popular culture, TV drama profoundly reflect the shift and interaction of forces of globalization and localization:foreign culture penetrates by means of TV plays, but local culture can also take advantage of TV plays to highlight the heritage. In recent years, overseas TV plays flow into China through various channels, which attracted a large number of Chinese audiences, especially the young, while Chinese TV plays poorly spread overseas with limited market. This relates to the survival and development of Chinese TV plays as well as the involvement of Chinese TV culture in the innovation and reconstruction of global contemporary culture so that the TV culture can help enhance the soft power of the nation and the state.In a sense, glocalization is a globalization theory based on the cultural perspective. According to this theory, economic globalization is not the same as cultural globalization, the globalization process is not likely to erase all differences and particularity of culture, and cultural globalization is the result of approach and collision between local culture and global culture and the process of gradual integration in confrontation, negotiation and game. The research on glocalization of Chinese TV plays will start with the development status of Chinese TV play industry in the globalization process, find out international, regional and local dominant forces and factors, analyze the crux of the problem in TV play production industry, and try to find an effective way to promote the globalized communication of Chinese TV plays.The paper consists of eight chapters. Chapter 1 Introduction describes the research background and significance, reviews domestic and foreign research literature, defines relevant research concepts, and introduces research methods, ideas and innovation. Chapter 2 Current Situation of the Development of Go Outside about Chinese TV Plays analyze the overseas profits and cultural influence of Chinese TV plays from four aspects:overseas trade, international trade market, international awards platform, honors and awards overseas to confirm the international position of Chinese TV plays in the globalization process. Chapter 3 Global Factors in Local Production describes the transplanted and joint production of TV plays with globalization. In this process, the production modes of Chinese TV plays become diverse, and the transplanted, joint and cooperated TV plays are direct products of this change. Chapter 4 Global Catalyst of Type Production describes that the globalization factors promote the classification of Chinese TV plays from theme to type, in which the idol plays, sitcoms and medical dramas are directly from overseas type plays. But in the local type plays, dialect plays and anti-Japanese plays deviate from the regulatory requirements. Chapter 5 Globalization-oriented Localization Control reviews the localization forces of production and broadcasting ways from the two perspectives, intervention of local executive power and restriction of local market power. The executive department emphasizes functions of communication, and its administrative intervention such as routine control in examination and approval and staged regulation in policies protects the domestic market from the invasion of foreign culture. But at the same time, the administrative monopoly restricts the sound operation of the market economy, and the economic force restricts the globalization of Chinese TV plays. The production is positioned in the local market with one-sided and limited marketing and distribution channels and measures, and the feedback faces collective blindness. Thus, local political and economic forces dominate the current production and communication. Chapter 6 Regional Preference of Overseas Audiences divides overseas audiences from the perspective of import and export of TV plays into one-way output area, two-way exchange area, and one-way input area. Regional audiences due to specific society, economy, culture and habit form certain preference, which is another factor affecting the spread of Chinese TV plays overseas. Chapter 7 Involvement in Global Cultural Construction of TV Plays makes reference to the experience of developed countries, finds the crux of the industry system of Chinese TV plays, and proposes that it is the way for Chinese TV plays to reconstruct global cultural pattern to consolidate global/local culture foundation, create independent, pluralistic and international regulation, produce TV plays aimed at audiences, and untie overseas trade market strategy. Chapter 8 Conclusion summarizes the key research points, points out that the substantive issue of Chinese TV plays in the globalization process is how to treat local culture's absorption and involvement in global culture, and propose further research ideas on the glocalization of Chinese TV plays.
