A Study On Tangdazhaolingji

Taodazhaolingji is collected by Song Shou and compiled by his son Song Minqiu in the Northern Song Dynasty.The masterpiece which includes a great deal of imperial edicts of the Tang Dynasty by several classifications is a very important document for researching the history of the Tang Dynasty.Up to now,the academic circle is yet short of systematic investigations about this masterpiece.Based on such a circumstance,the paper will conduct a comprehensive study about the masterpiece mainly from the following aspects.First,make a study of the compilation of Taodazhaolingji.In the perspective of the tradition about the compilation of anthology of imperial edicts and in view of the especial historical background which Song Shou and Song Minqiu lived,the paper makes a reasonable analysis about the compilation of the masterpiece relating to its reason,process and meaning.Meanwhile,the paper gives an unambiguous answer to the sources of historical data of the masterpiece,which mainly include the Memoirs of the Tang Dynasty,the anthology of an author’s works of the Tang Dynasty,official documents and Tangnianbulu.(a book which records the history of the late Tang Dynasty written by Jia Wei.)Second,make a study of the versions of Tangdazhaolingji.The paper conducts a detailed arrangement of the circulation of the masterpiece which records in different catalogues since Ming and Qing Dynasty.Meanwhile,the paper makes reliable analysis for the origin and development of its existing versions.Third,make a compilation about the scattering texts of Tangdazhaolingji.Referring to the quotations from the reference books with material taken from various sources and arranged according to subjects of the Song Dynasty such as Wenyuanyinghua and Gujinhebishileibeiyao,the paper compiles the scattering texts of the masterpiece.On this basis,the paper makes an addition and correction to its catalogue.Fourth,make a study of the value of Tangdazhaolingji.The paper investigates the value of the masterpiece from two aspects:the value of historical materials and the value of emendation.The paper reveals that there are mainly two properties of the value of historical materials of the masterpiece.One is the uniqueness.The book perfectly conserves more than six hundred imperial edicts that are not recorded by other books or only extracted by other books.The other is the primitiveness.Compared with Jiutangshu(a book which records the history of the Tang Dynasty written by Liu Xu),the sources of historical data of the book wrote even earlier.Combined with case study,the paper makes a small but complete analysis on this value.In addition,the paper emendates the imperial edicts which quoted by Jiutangshu using the book.Fifth,make a study of the dissemination of Tangdazhaolingji.The paper discusses the time when the book began to scatter,and expounds the change of the nature in its disseminating process which also impacts on the trends of bibliography.Sixth,make a study of the emendation of Tangdazhaolingji.On the basis of deliberation of achievements which scholars have got by emending the book,the paper makes a comprehensive emendation using more literature such as Jiutangshu,Cefuyuangui and Wenyuanyinghua,and supplements more than one thousand notes.The paper mainly depends on literature research,combing with the academic and cultural history study,to make a dynamic and systemic investigation of the book.It’s hoped that this study will be of some help for making use of Tangdazhaolingji and researching the history of the Tang Dynasty.
