Objective: This article aims at thoroughly and comprehensively understanding the view of chest-bi(impediment)in the Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties through literature research on pattern treatment of chest-bi during the Song,Jin and Yuan period, and analyzing the characteristics of it at that time. This article also compares the understanding of chest-bi between it in the Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties and in the Han and Tang Dynasties,in order to explain its contributions from the concept of disease pattern, pathogenesis and etiology, treatment based on pattern identification and the application of formulas and drugs in the Song,Jin and Yuan period, which provides useful ideas and methods for the contemporary treatment of chest-bi.Methods: Pattern treatment of chest-bi in the Song,Jin and Yuan period is chosen as the research object in this project.Through multiple channels to search for relevant literatures, records of chest-bi at that period are comprehensively collected, and then integrated and organized,so as to analyze their view of chest-bi under the framework of the concept of chest-bi,pathogenesis and etiology, symptoms, treatment principles and methods and the application of formulas and drugs, etc. On the basis of it,comparison is made between understanding of chest-bi during Han and Tang Dynasties and Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties,to analyze their similarities and differences and reveal the trajectory of its inheritance and development.Through the comparative analysis of symptoms, correlation is explored between chest-bi in the Song,Jin and Yuan period and certain modern diseases. Results: The understanding of the chest-bi in the Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties better inherited the achievements of the Han and Tang Dynasties. In the light of this, there exists significant development and supplement. In addition to recognizing the heart, lungs, chest, and thoracic diaphragm, the disease lesions including the throat, spleen and stomach are also added. On the etiology and pathogenesis,it continues to emphasize factors such as deficiency, cold,qi stagnation, and phlegm obstruction, and also complement factors such as static blood, heat, improper diet, and kidney deficiency due to sexual indulgence.Although the symptoms are mainly inherited from the Qin,Han and Tang Dynasties, when we sorted it out after collection and classified it,they were mainly divided into shortness of breath due to chest-bi,choking due to chest-bi,infracardiac hard distension and acute pain due to chest-bi,heartache and back pain due to chest-bi or simple chest-bi.This kind of classification is more careful, more systematic, and more relevant to the clinic. There are also relatively large supplements in formulas and drugs.Apart from the recorded more than 40 formulas, which are inherited from the Qin,Han and Tang Dynasties.Over 50 new therapeutic formulas have been added. The application of drugs corresponds to the symptoms, and a large amount of drugs are applied if the drugs themselves have features to treat chest-bi or its symptoms, providing clinical reference value.A comparative analysis of symptoms between it and modern medicine shows that it is associated with heart disease, respiratory disease, esophageal disease, and possibly with rash-free herpes zoster. Conclusion: 1.The understanding of chest-bi in the Song,Jin and Yuan dynasties relatively comprehensively inherited it from the Han and Tang Dynasties, and summarized the literatures of different discourses and viewpoints on the chest-bi in the Han and Tang Dynasties.2.In the Song,Jin and Yuan dynasties, the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of chest-bi was improved, and the classification and treatment method used for chest-bi was more appropriate in clinical practice.3.In the Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties, there were more abundant means of treatment of chest-bi,and new treatment principles and formulas were proposed.4.Treatment and identification of chest-bi in the Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties not only pay attention to "correspondence between formulas and patterns",but also emphasizes "correspondence between drugs and patterns(symptoms)".5.Chest-bi of the Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties is related to many modern diseases, not limited to coronary heart disease or heart disease. |
