Research On Medical Vocabulary Of Ancient Chinese Dictionaries

ObjectiveMedical vocabulary includes medical vocabulary in medical books and medical vocabulary in non-medical books.Non-medical classics mainly include dictionaries and miscellaneous books of literature and history.Among them,the number of medical words included in the dictionary accounts for the vast majority of non-medical medical words.By taking the medical words in 11 important,influential and representative dictionaries of ancient China as the research corpus,this paper aims to reveal the features and characteristics of the medical words in ancient Chinese dictionaries,describe the evolution and development of the meanings of words,as well as the treatment and inheritance and innovation of the medical words in dictionaries.SignificanceFirst,the study of lexicographical medical vocabulary can be complementary with the medical vocabulary in medical books;Second,providing materials for the history of medical vocabulary;Thirdly,it provides reference for compiling medical lexicon.Fourthly,it provides corpus for the exegetical interpretation and research of Chinese traditional medicine vocabulary.MethodsThis paper takes the medical words in ancient dictionaries as the closed material,classifies the words,counts the number of each type of Chinese medicine words,and describes the general situation of the development of medical words with static description.Using the diachronic and synchronic methods to explore the historical evolution of vocabulary and the inheritance and evolution of interpretation;We will group related words into groups,explore their sources,compare them with each other,discover their similarities and differences,and explore the internal system to communicate the relationship between words.Medical vocabulary is related to both medicine and linguistics,with the characteristics of general Chinese vocabulary and the particularity of medical vocabulary.ConclusionThe number of medical words is increasing gradually,and the constant emergence of new words and new meanings is the general characteristic of medical words.On the level of syllables,the characteristics of medical lexicographical words in ancient dictionaries gradually developed from monosyllabic words to disyllabic words.At the level of lexical thesaurus,nominal words are the main words,while shape words and verbs are few.At the level of meaning,the meanings of medical words gradually increase and vary,and some medical words expand to the category of common words from the intersection with common words.In terms of writing,the increase of heterogeneous characters is the biggest characteristic of medical vocabulary.At the same time,with the development of medicine,a large number of homotypic characters are produced,and the same glyph is often used to represent different medical concepts.In terms of the interpretation of dictionaries,the interpretation of the words to be interpreted was gradually refined and clear.From the two han dynasty to the medical vocabulary of the single form of interpretation developed to the later comprehensive interpretation.
