Research On The Theory Of Acupuncture In The "Internal Classic"

Objective: This study explores the connotation and significance of the acupuncture theory of emphasis on the “Shen” by sorting out and excavating the original texts of Huangdi Neijing(Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic)and other related literatures.We will find out the application method of the acupuncture theory of emphasis on the “Shen”.Furthermore,comparing discussions of the evolution and the development of acupuncture theory of emphasis on the "Shen" in Neijing and by other subsequent doctors.Method: Collect the existing literature and works from the past to the present,and explore from the theme and other related documents.Then,process and analyze these literatures by the following methods.1.Qualitative research: Search the description related to acupuncture method from the text and find the content related to "Dao","Shen","Mind","Awareness" and so on.Then,the above texts are analyzed to deduce the logical relationship from the contextual and the meaning behind the text.Finally,the acupuncture theory of emphasis on the sipirt will be summarized.This paper mainly deals with the analysis method and thinking mode of philological materials,hermeneutic ideas and thoughts,text analysis method of contextual studies,and image schema theory of cognitive linguistics.Use a comparative research method to investigate the similarities and differences between different acupuncture methods.In addition,a historical comparison is used to compare the similarities and differences of descriptions of acupuncture method in different time periods.2.Critical interpretation of ancient texts method: This study belongs to the category of theoretical research.In order to solve these basic problems,it is necessary to extensively refer to previous research results.It includes the annotation,collation and viewpoint of the annotators of Neijing in the past dynasties,as well as the collation,annotation and interpretation of Neijing by the present researcher.Then,analyzes the characters,words and the meaning of the text.When the meaning of the words is difficult to understand or interpret,“Shuo Wen Jie Zi”,“Kangxi dictionary” and other books are used for reference.For those whom have difficulty in understanding some meanings of the words,should resort to the classics of “Er Ya” and “Shi Ming”,as well as some works on the study of phonology in Neijing.It will helps interpret the meanings of words.Results: In this study,it was found that the acupuncture theory of emphasis on the “Shen” in Neijing consists of five segments.The “Dao” of the acupuncture theory of emphasis on the “Shen” in Neijing,the connotation of “Shen”,the mechanism of the acupuncture of emphasis on the “Shen” in Neijing,the realization method of the acupuncture theory of emphasis on the “Shen”,and the development and evolution of the acupuncture theory of emphasis on the “Shen”.1.The Dao of acupuncture in Neijing is the emphasis on the “Shen”,including diagnosis,needling operation,sympathetic response and the integration of nature and human beings.These are all based on “Shen” if we want to reach the requirements and results of Neijing.The part of the system of organs,yin-yang and meridians are indirectly related to “Shen”,but the perfection of this system is achieved by Shen's awareness of the organism.Aactual application can only be completed with the participation of “Shen”.It can be seen that Neijing believes that “Shen” plays a very important role in acupuncture theory,and “Shen” is the key role that makes acupuncture effective.2.The connotation of “Shen” can be divided into two levels: Nature and Human.The “Shen” in nature level mainly includes four aspects: "Dao","Shen","Gan" and "Qi".Dao is the law of change in the universe.Shen is the manifestation of the changes in the universe.Gan is the mechanism that triggers the change in the universe.Qi is the power of change in the universe.On the human level,"Shen" is divided into "Yuan Shen" and "Shi Shen".The meaning of “Yuan Shen” is the same as nature.“Shi Shen” consists human emotion,consciousness and perception.In addition,according to the descriptions of "Shen","Dao" and "One" in Neijing,the study finds that the meanings of the three are similar,and the “Shen” in here refers to "Yuan Shen".3.The key of acupuncture of emphasis on “Shen” in Neijing is awareness,and the mechanism is empathy.The key of treatment of acupuncture is to make empathetic correspondence when the doctor and patient are in a state dominated by "Yuan Shen".It triggers “Qi” to make change and let the body resort to its self-healing ability.To enter this state,a doctor must be completely quiet and aware of all subtle changes without being disturbed by any outside influence.4.The realization method of the acupuncture theory of emphasis on “Shen” in Neijing focuses on how to achieve the state of "One".To enter this state,one need to train “Shen” by making “Shen” dependent on an object.Meditation and Qigong are both ways of training “Shen” through an object.In addition,proficiency can also make “Shen”.To keep the awareness of the feeling under the needle is to make the “Shen” depend on the feeling of the finger on the needle,and eventually achieve the purpose of training the “Shen”.5.The theory of emphasis on “Shen” in Neijing has been standardized and passed on.The acupuncture and moxibustion clinicians of all ages have attached great importance to the role of “Shen”.However,Neijing prefer to train “Shen” directly,and use “Shen” to control “Qi” and “Form”.Later generations started from the aspect of “Form” with the needling method.It is a way to understand the meaning of “Shen” gradually when training by “Form”.This is the difference between Neijing and the later generations.Conclusion: The “Dao” of acupuncture in Neijing is the emphasis on “Shen”,and the “Shen” is “Yuan Shen”.Therefore,medical practitioners should be in the state of “One” in order to achieve the requirements of Neijing,which are the diagnosis,operation,empathy,the unity of nature and human beings,and the mastery of the system of organs,yin-yang and meridians.In order to achieve the state of “One”,“Shen” must be trained through the method of making “Shen” on an object,which is the continuous "awareness" of an object.Which is the process of "training Shen".When the doctor can be in the state of "one",which is the state dominated by "Yuan Shen",the empathetic effect between doctor and patient is close to “Dao”.A change of “Qi” triggered by the state of “One” will have a positive therapeutic effect on an organism.A doctor needs to keep the "awareness" without any subjective thoughts in order to persist in the state of “keeping Shen” and the state of “one”.Then the treatment will take place naturally.It should be emphasized that this is the highest state requirement by the Neijing.In order to achieve this state,the accumulation of experience and practice is a necessary process which practice can make perfection and “Shen”.In addition,through the exploration of the theory of the emphasis on “Shen” in later generations,it is found that the inheritance of the theory is affected by the development of the needling method.In order to master the complex needling method,doctors must be very concentrated.“Shen” can rely on the needling method,which is to their advantage.However,the very complicated technique and the different situations of discourse take people at a loss.It affects the inheritance of acupuncture theory.Significance: This study discusses the connotation,the mechanism,and the realization method of acupuncture of emphasis on “Shen”.It will help the scholars to expand the thought of research for the theory of acupuncture and Shen in the future.It will help improve the current clinical curative effect of acupuncture and moxibustion.The process of “training Shen” will let a doctor self-reflect their inward heart,and then achieve the state of “One”.Therefore,not only can it improve the level of clinical services to patients,at the same time,through experience,a doctor can better understand the requirements and state of Neijing's acupuncture.It will help scholars dispel doubts and create faith,and it has real significance and enlightenment in the heritage of “Dao” in medicine.In addition,from the perspective of the development of acupuncture theory,it can be seen that later generations have quantified the acupuncture method and the theory of the unity of nature and human being in Neijing.It shows that the realization of acupuncture of emphasis on “Shen” is still difficult.At present,the acupuncture and moxibustion academic circle should pay more attention to and conduct in-depth research on the realization of the acupuncture theory of emphasis on “Shen”.
