Lo Kok-u was a renowned Chinese medicine practioner in Hong Kong during the 20th Century.He was born in 1898,has been practicing Chinese medicine since 1920' s.He was the first chief of service of the first Chinese medicine hospital in Hong Kong,Tung Wah Hospital.He was recognized as one of the pioneer of the integration of Chinese medicine and western science.Lo has contributed his whole life to practicing,teaching and promotiong Chinese medlcine.Objecfive:This study is to provide a comprehensive profile Lo Kok-u and analaze his clinical experience.Methods:By collecting medical literature,create a comprenhensive profile of Lo Kok-u,analaze his clinical experience.Source of data collection includes libraries,Tung Wah Museum,internet database and second-hand bookstores.Literature collected mainly consists of books,journals and newspaper.Planned interviews were done with Chinese medical historian and senior Chinese medicine practitioner wlho knew Lo Kok-u.Results:Lo Kok-u' s academic views and clinical experience in various fields is discussed and analyzed.A more complete and accurate profile of Lo is provided-Conclusion:Not only was a skillful Chinese medicine practictioner,Lo Kok-u was also a perfect model of a scholar who was always in search of greatness in the medical field.
