Applied Research Of Plant Materials In Ancient Chinese Architecture

Plant is one of the indispensable natural resources of human life,and its application in ancient architecture is derived from the ancients’ understanding,selection,classification and understanding of plant materials.It is the technology developed by the ancients around the"basic necessities" life in the "live".Based on the "grass"," bamboo"," wood" three plant materials as the object of study.Reveals the wisdom of the application of plant material in ancient Chinese architecture with the whole and individual,independent and interweaving research methods.From the key problems in the application of grass,bamboo and wood,both excavate their own characteristics and summarize the versatility of plant materials in construction technology,so as to get close to the ancients on the construction of plant materials application of the building thinking.In the first chapter of this dissertation,the application category of three types,grass,bamboo and wood,in ancient Chinese architecture was studied.In the second,third and fourth chapters,respectively from the key issues in the application of three types of plant materials.Dscussing the construction of "light grass" in roof and the expression of its material properties in architecture.Finding out the universal structure and tectonics of "variable bamboo" in the traditional Bambooware and buildings.It is found that bamboo is more suitable for the structure of light structure with tension.Dscussing how the natural and cultural attributes of "different wood" participate in the construction of ancient Chinese wooden structures,and sums up the principles of the distinguish of varieties of trees in Chinese architecture wood structures,to explore the typical characteristic of Chinese wooden buildings.And the well-dry building as the topic,from the perspective of small material construction,interpreting the wisdom of using wood in the well-dry building.
