Pharmaceuticals and personal care products(PPCPs)are substances used for the purpose of physical health and personal care,or substances used by farmers to maintain the health or to promote the growth of livestock.Pharmaceuticals are a large branch of PPCPs,containing a wide variety of compounds. The production and usage of pharmaceuticals are increasing day by day.Pharmaceuticals pose a great threat to the ecological groundwater environment and drinking water safety by entering the groundwater from environment through various channels.Nowadays, the qualitative identification and quantitative detection of unknown polar pharmaceuticals in the environment are still difficult problem in the field of environmental analysis, due to the uncertainty of groundwater pollution sources, the concealment of pollution pathways, the diversity of pharmaceuticals and the limitation of detection instruments.Defining the quantitative analysis method of the target compounds, the qualitative identification of unknown components is more challenging.A qualitative library of 189 kinds of ordinary pharmaceuticals in groundwater was established by Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometer(UPLC-MS/MS)in this paper.By search and comparison functions in it,the identification of unknown compound species in groundwater can be achieved.A semiqualitative method for contaminants was constructed, which based on the mass spectrometry information contained in the library. Then, the correct rate is 100% by using the simulated groundwater samples to evaluate the semi-qualitative identification method. And the correct rate of the unknown component identified is greater than 85% in the actual groundwater sample. Therefore,it is indicated that the semi-qualitative method satisfies the qualitative identification of unknown pharmaceuticals in groundwater.According to the qualitative identified in the groundwater and the detection of related literature,a total of 64 antibiotics with high environmental detection frequency were selected and developed a quantitative detection method. All target antibiotics are tested within 15 minutes by SPE-UPLC-MS/MS.When the sample volume is 1 L and the concentration ratio is 1000,the method detection limit is 0.41-14.71 ng / L,and the 90% of the target antibiotic recovery rate is in the range of 50-120%.This quantitative method provides methodological support for the study of antibiotic residues in groundwater. The urban sewage treatment plant is an important source of pharmaceuticals in water environment, and karst underground river system is susceptible to surface pollution sources. The underground river system of Xiangshui River in Kaiyang,Guizhou Province as a typical research area to study the influence of sewage treatment plant drainage to the underground river in this paper. The study revealed that a total of 69 pharmaceuticals were identified in 14 samples by semi-qualitative method for pharmaceuticals contaminants, including 55 antibiotics.29 pharmaceuticals contaminants were identified at most in sample of pollution source.Meanwhile,14 samples were detected by 64 antibiotics quantitative analysis, and 32 antibiotics were detected, and 65% of the samples detected a total concentration greater than 1000 ng/L.
