Giant panda is an endangered animal of China and loved by all over the world. With the advancement of research, the giant panda's habitat, feeding characteristics, breeding and migration activities, newborn and growth characteristics of bamboo, ecological structure of giant panda's habitat were gradually deeper understood.Basing on these results, some new models were set up with respect to the stability of giant panda and bamboo ecosystem, constrains of forest environment to the persistence and functions of different types of patches. The basic theories about dynamic system were used to analyze the dynamic model, and its ecological meaning was explained. In addition,Matlab was applied to carry out the simulation in nature reserve for giant panda. This paper mainly considered the following three issues:(1)Ecological resilience of giant panda and bamboo system. The structure and stability of an ecosystem is decided by the interaction and influence between species.A two dimensional dynamic model of giant panda—bamboo was set up with the density restriction of bamboo and the functional response II.Following theoretical analysis,it was found that giant panda and bamboo subsisted at a constant level under mild interference and they presented a periodic balance with sever interference. In case of lighter interference, ecological resilience was evaluated by the recovery rate. The result showed that recovery rate was monotone increasing first and decreasing later with the growth of environment accommodation. The recovery rate was also influenced by conversion rate of prey, and the variation pattern was unchanged.(2)The stability of giant panda and bamboo ecosystem with forest environment.Habitat quality is the external condition for the survival of giant panda populations. In order to study the coexistence of giant panda, bamboo in forest environment, trees were taken as indicators of environment. Then the model involving giant panda, bamboo and trees was set up.According to preying characteristics of giant panda, bamboo was divided into young subpopulation of 1-2 years old and mature subpopulation that were more than 2 years;while tree was divided into saplings and mature trees too. Then a five-dimensional dynamical system was carried out,the permanence conditions were discussed theoretically, and ecological significance was explained.Basing on the result,a principle of staging and differential interferences was proposed. In addition, the effect of grazing was considered, and the restrictive condition was put forward,too.(3)Dynamic analysis of giant panda migration.Habitat of giant pandas is highly fragmented, which greatly threatens the communication and persistence of giant panda. The habitats were divided into A,B and C types, and Allee effect was applied to describe the growth of giant panda.A model considering the migration and loss was carried out,and the permanence was discussed. The theoretical result was applied in the Qinling Mountains, the growth of giant panda was simulated when the diffusion loss was reduced by 50%,and the significance of constructing corridors over National Road 108 was discussed. In one word, the protection of giant panda basing on the forest environment was studied with population dynamic theory. The results made up the lack of practical protection experience and supported the theory of giant panda----forest----bamboo protecting as a whole.
