At all times and in all countries,numerous political states set up state-owned enterprises as extension functions of government.Such is especially the case with modern countries with financial control functions.With the establishment of public ownership as the goal,the socialist regimes under the leadership of the proletarian party have set up and developed state-owned enterprises extensively not only to achieve the economic catch-up strategy but also to establish socialist production relations as well as the material and technical basis of socialism.The choice of state-owned enterprise system is of both theoretical and practical necessities while offering the state-owned enterprises distinctive socialist nature and function.State-owned enterprise system reflects the principles of scientific socialism in many respects at the initial stage of socialist construction.However,it is also followed with some problems such as rigid production and operation mechanism,and non-separation between the government and the enterprises.After the reform of market economy system,state-owned enterprises matched with planned economy become more and more inadaptable in many ways,which resulted in their extensive losses,thus launched the market-oriented reform of state-owned enterprises.Aimed at establishing market-oriented operation mechanism,the reform of state-owned enterprises has made great achievements.However,socialist nature is weakened in the meanwhile.It is impossible for state-owned enterprises to survive if they just stick to the old system without reform.However,they will lose their value as state-owned enterprises if they deviate from the socialist direction in the reform.Market economy lays stress on profit-driven mechanism,while socialist orientation emphasizes value preference.It is no easy task for state-owned enterprises to both carry out market-oriented reforms and adhere to the socialist orientation.Therefore,it is necessary for us to rediscover the functions of state-owned enterprises in the market economy and its position in the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics as well as to re-understanding the connotation of socialist production relations.Our socialist country which is led by the Communist Party of China empowers state-owned enterprises with special economic and political function,where the socialist nature of state-owned enterprises shouldn't be weakened,but instead,it should be unceasingly consolidated and magnified in the reform.That is to say,the direction of state-owned enterprise reform is of vital importance.Thus,it is a must to research the countermeasures of adhering to the socialist direction in the reform and ensure that state-owned enterprises develop and grow along the socialist road.To ensure the direction of the reform of state-owned enterprises,from the macroscopic aspect,we must adhere to the dominant position of public ownership,consolidate the leading role of the state-owned economy,and guarantee the state-owned economy sector controlling the lifeblood of the national economy;at the micro level,we must implant such socialist genes as the leadership of the Party,the Party's construction,wholeheartedly relying on the working class and so on into characteristics of moderm state-owned enterprise system to maintain and de-velop the socialist relations of production,and to build state-owned enterprises into the backbone enterprise in the market economy and the pillar of socialism with Chinese characteristics as well.Adhering to the socialist direction in the reform of state-owned enterprises not only involves the guiding ideas,ideology,fundamental political system,and the basic economic system,the top-level design of the economic system reform and the system design of state-owned enterprises but also requires to ensure the reform of state-owned enterprises is in line with the overall interests of all the people and the immediate interests of the employees of state-owned enterprises.It is both a major theoretical and practical issue.The thesis is divided into three parts:introduction,main body and conclusion.The main body covers the main body of the thesis,five chapters included.Chapter 1,state-owned enterprise system is the inevitable choice of socialist theory and practice.This chapter mainly analyses "why there stand so many state-owned enterprises",that is,the origin of socialist state-owned enterprises,discusses Marxism classical writers' related elaboration on socialist public ownership,expounds the exploration process of the economic construction after the proletarian political party wins power,and expounds why the state-owned enterprise system has been chosen and the extreme importance of state-owned enterprises for the socialist system.And it is the inevitable choice for the socialist movement to bring state-owned enterprise system from theory to practice and from practice to national legal system.Chapter 2,the development of socialist practice promotes the reform of state-owned enterprises.This chapter mainly analyzes why state-owned enterprises need to be reformed,the operating mode and the basic characteristics of the state-owned enterprises after the theory of public ownership has been put into practice and how the development of socialist practice promotes the reform of state-owned aspects,including why and how to adhere to the dominant position of public economy,construct modern state-owned enterprise system with Chinese characteristics,strengthen the leadership of the Party and the Party building,give full play to the working class a masters,enhance the construction of enterprise leaders,and set up state-owned enterprise supervision pattern while offering measures and proposals.The third part is the conclusion.By summing up the theory and logic between the market-oriented reform of state-owned enterprises and socialist orientation,this part draws the conclusion:the state-owned enterprise is the cornerstone to realize the ideals of socialism;reform must adhere to socialist orientation;socialist orientation can only be maintained through joint efforts from all
