China's GDP exceeded Japan to become the world's second-largest economy in 2010. However, from the perspective of the industrial structure, most industries in China is still in the low-end of the world value chain, and the regional economy has not established the pattern of innovation-driven sustainable development. Integrated innovation is a new innovation model built along with the rapid development of science and technology and the rapid changes in market demands highlighting the combination of technology innovation and demands and promoting the transfer from the innovation achievements to productivity. Industry integrated innovation is the embodiment of the integrated innovation thought in terms of industry development and application, which accelerates the upgrading of industrial structure and provides an important way for building an innovative country.As revealed by both theory and practice, with the increasing indivisibility of knowledge as the production factors, regional knowledge becomes the key factor for the promotion of regional industry and the development of innovation in production activities. With the arrival of information technology revolution represented by Internet technology and a new circle of industrial revolution, the differences between various regions will increase in knowledge and innovation resources, which will further aggravate the level of industrial competitiveness and the gap of innovation development between various regions. Therefore, the dissertation explores the mechanism of influence which the regional knowledge exerts on the industrial clusters innovation, identifies the key influence factors, sets up a scientific evaluation model and explores the internal cause of the difference in the regional industry innovation integration on the regional knowledge level. The present research aims to improve the collaborative relations between the regional knowledge carrying capacity and industry integrated innovation activities, so that will better promote the sustainable development of regional economy and industry.The main research work is as follows:(1) The basic analytical framework of the influence factors that the regional carrying capacity exerts on the industry integrated innovation is established. On the basis of literature review the connotation and composition of the important concepts about the research are analyzed. On the basis of the endogenous growth theory and the integrated innovation theory the inner relationship between regional knowledge carrying capacity and industry integrated innovation is analyzed. It is revealed that they both show the inner consistency of the sustainable development of regional economy.That is to say, regional knowledge carrying capacity exerts influence on the industry integrated innovation by a procedure in which four subjects exerts influence on the knowledge creation, knowledge dissemination and proliferation activity.(2) Guided by the systematic view, we reveal the influence mechanism that the regional carrying capacity of the knowledge exerts on industrial clusters innovation.In the system of the regional carrying capacity of knowledge, the realization process and the chief path of industry integrated innovation is analyzed. Based on the endogenous growth theory and technology diffusion model, the mechanism of the diffusion process, knowledge creation and knowledge is analyzed. The regional knowledge carrying capacity act on the development of industry integrated innovation on both levels of the regional knowledge carrying unit and the carrying network. The supporting function that regional knowledge carrying capacity exerts on the industry integrated innovation from the point of knowledge resources and policy resources is illustrated. Research results have shown that, in the process of operating the system of the regional knowledge carrying capacity, two methods contribute to the development of industry integrated innovation based on the external and internal restructuring of knowledge integration. One is based on regional knowledge within the system restructuring mechanism of regional industry integrated innovation path, the other is based on the external knowledge integration mechanism of industrial clusters innovation and development path.(3) By employing the grey theory-DEMATEL method, the cause effect relationship between various factors is established and the key influence factors are identified.In the three subsystems (core subsystem, supporting subsystem and orientation subsystem) of the regional knowledge carrying capacity, the influence factors that regional knowledge carrying capacity exert on the industrial clusters innovation are identified. The grey number-DEMATEL method is used to build the analysis model of influencing factors and clarify the causal relationship between influencing factors. The research results show that the result is affected by several influence factors that regional knowledge elements exert on the carrying capacity of the industrial clusters innovation and development. There are some correlations between various influencing factors. The influence factors that reginal knowledge carrying capacity exerts on industry integrated innovation mainly includes the regional intellectual capital and knowledge supply capacity, regional knowledge absorptive capacity, technical transformation, regional resources integration, regional innovation output capacity, regional knowledge media, regional financial agency, regional human resources base, knowledge base, regional science and technology innovation policy and regional innovation culture. Among the above factors, the regional innovation culture and regional innovation system are the fundamental factors that influence the regional knowledge carrying capacity, and the macro factors that influence the integrated innovation of regional industry and the construction of regional knowledge.(4) The model is established which evaluates the influence that the regional carrying capacity exert on the industry integrated innovation by using the method of combination of empowerment. The integrated of G1, G2, entropy value method and the maximum deviation method for index weight are used, and the model is built to evaluates the influence that the regional carrying capacity exert on the industry integrated innovation. Then, the regional carrying capacity of the 31 provincial regions is evaluated based on the model. The evaluation results are spatial distribution characteristics and the analysis of regional difference. As showed by the results, from the global perspective from 2010 to 2012 in the 31 provinces of China the influence that regional knowledge carrying capacity exert on the industry integrated innovation shows a downward trend. From the index of each dimension, the basic support dimension is on the rise, while the influence that innovation support dimensions and the function of the green support dimension exert on industry-integrated innovation shows the trend of decline. In terms of regional differences, the differentiation of the influence that reginal knowledge carrying capacity exerts on the industry-integrated innovation is more outstanding between various provinces. In terms of the spatial distribution of evaluation results, the influence that the regional knowledge carrying capacity exerts on the industry integrated innovation presents the gradual decline from east to west. And there exist differences in the distribution of influence in the eastern, northeastern, central and western regions.
