Wireless communication is very popular with people in daily life.All kinds of mobile telecommunication device with more function are emerging.It's important in industry to improve power supply and decrease power consumption in order to keep up with more function and high performance.Reducing system power consumption is one of the hot topics in circuit and system industry besides power supply and battery technology.Radio frequency circuit is the main part of system power consumption.The receiver and transmitter front-end is radio frequency circuit.How to research and develop low power consumption RF front-end circuit of receiver is an effective measure to reduce system power consumption.Traditonal receiver RF front-end circuit is made up with TTL integrated circuit with high processing speed and power consumption.However the RF front-end circuit based on CMOS IC not only meet requirements of telecommunication performance but also has some unique advantages such as low power consumption,wide dynamic range,strong robusty,stabinity during fluctuation of temperature.So it becomes one of important technology in low power consumption RF front-end circuit.This dissertation gives detailed research on CMOS RF front-end circuit of receiver.Some idears are proposed to reduce circuit power consumption and improve comprehensive performance of RF front-end circuit.Some module circuits such as ultra-low-power low noise amplifier(LNA),mixer,oscillator and current-mode filter are discussed in the dissertation.The innovation of this dissertation is summarized as follows.(1)This dissertation presents an ultra-low-power low noise amplifier(LNA)for ultra-wideband(UWB)receivers.With the help of current-reuse and forward body bias techniques,the total simulated conversion gain of the receiver is 8.3-10.5dB and NF is below3.6dB,the input and output reflection coefficient are lower than-10dB.All of these results meet the requirements of the RF receiver.Especially,the power consumption of the circuit is1.9mW with 0.8V supply voltage,which meets the demands for ultra-low-power.(2)This dissertation presents a mixer of 5GHz with low power high gain down-conversion.The proposed mixer adopts folded double balanced Gilbert topology.The self-bias resistive current reuse configuration is employed in the RF transconductance stage to achieve high conversion gain.The current bleeding technique has been utilized to further improve the conversion gain,noise figure and linearity.The simulation results indicate that the mixer achieves a conversion gain of 17.9dB,a SSB NF of 9dB,an IIP3 of-1.4dBm,while its power consumption is only 0.9mW under 1V supply voltage.It is especially suitable for low power wireless communication applications.(3)This dissertation presents a current-mode four-phase quadrature oscillator(QO).The proposed third-order QO consists of three CDTAs and three grounded capacitors,and it could generate four quadrature current outputs.By changing the bias voltage,the oscillation condition and oscillation frequency could be independently adjusted.The frequency tuning range can reach 63.68MHz.Since the oscillator does not contain inductive element,the circuit layout area occupies only 1.44mm~2.(4)This dissertation presents a new universal current-mode filtering circuit with single input and multi-outputs based on OTA(operational transconductance amplifiers).The circuit just consists of two operational transconductance amplifiers(OTA),one current controlled current amplifier with multi-outputs(MOCCCA).Its quality factor and natural frequency can be tuned orthogonal and the sensitivities are very low.It can realize low-pass,band-pass,high-pass,band-stop and all-pass filters simultaneously.In summary,this dissertation studys the key modules of CMOS RF receiver front-end circuit with low power consumption,low noise amplifiers,mixers,VCO and current-mode filters.It is help to promote the development of domestic wireless communication technology and propel independent research on the RF receiver chip.
