With the combination of computer graphics and agricultural knowledge,study of crop morphology structure and physiological function has entered into the stage of digitalization and visualization.It has become possible to simulate process of crop growth,to realize quantitative analysis,accurate description and visual expression of the crop morphological structure,to realize quantitative calculation,simulation and prediction of the state of each factor and crop growth process on the computer.In this paper,we studied the growth simulation and 3D visualization of wheat crop.Due to the complexity of wheat morphology structure,its growth process was influenced by various environmental conditions,and its morphological characteristics were different at different stages,such as tiller,leaf bending,dry,etc,it was a huge challenge to real realize the growth visualization of wheat.In order to solve the above problems,this paper conducted the following research:(1)Carried out the field trials,collected a large amount of measured data.Take wheat variety "Hengguan 35","Jimai 22" and "Heng 4399" as the materials in Wuqing district,Tianjin,and "Yanzhan4110" as material in Henan Xinxiang area,carried out field trials,collected wheat morphology data(leaf length,leaf width,leaf angle,leaf height,stem diameter,plant height,etc),meteorological data and texture images,etc.,prepared data for wheat growth simulation model construction and 3D visualization research.(2)Constructed wheat growth simulation model with the aid of effective accumulated temperature.After the analysis of quantitative relationship between wheat morphology data and effective accumulated temperature,simulation model of wheat leaf length,maximum leaf width,leaf height and plant height were built by logistic equation.Simulation model was validated,the results showed that model simulation values coincide well with the measured values,simulation model had high precision,and the model had good descriptive and predictive ability to wheat dynamic growth.(3)Simulated wheat organs and individual plant geometry model,built wheat morphology structure model.Based on the wheat morphological characteristic parameters and topology structure,we established construction algorithm of wheat leaf main vein control point using parameterized modeling method based on curve and curved surface.With the aid of NURBS surface modeling technology and OpenGL graphics library,constructed the wheat organs geometric model,such as leaf,leaf sheath,stem etc.Combined with realistic graphics display technology,such as color rendering,texture mapping and illumination treatment etc,we drew strong realistic wheat individual geometric model,and constructed wheat morphological structure model.(4)Developed wheat growth visualization system,realized 3D visualization of wheat growth process.Based on wheat growth simulation model,calculated the morphological data of wheat every grow day driven by effective accumulated temperature.With the help of object-oriented programming technology and Open GL 3D graphics library,wheat growth visualization system was developed,combination of wheat growth simulation model and morphological structure model was realized,andgrowth process 3D visualization of different varieties wheat under different nitrogen levels was realized.Wheat growth simulation model,which was constructed by the effective accumulated temperature,could better predict wheat growth status.Combined with wheat morphological structure model,3D visualization of wheat growth process was finally realized.This paper will provide realistic visualization tools for wheat crop growth dynamic prediction,cultivation management control and crop plant type design,provide strong technical support for wheat crop ideal plant type screening,high yield,high efficiency,lodging resistance,etc.
