A Study On The Function Of "Topic" In Chinese Social Media From The Perspective Of The Dialogue Theory

Social media is based on Web2.0 technology platform and the network media with numerous functions that users can browse,download,upload,share,comment,instant messaging,online dating and so on.Social media does not only have social function but also the media function of information release.'Topic' function of social media is a concentrated reflection of social function and media function on social media.This study takes the perspectives of Bakhtin,Gadamer,Martin Buber,Habermas and other scholars' dialogue theory,focuses and studies on the topic function of social media.According to the theory of dialogue,a real 'dialogue' may has the following points:establishing a dialogue between people and society and creating a free dialogue public space;the both side of dialogue need a intersubjective relationship;dialogue has the 'centripetal force' and 'centrifugal force';the matrix of dialogue is a polyphony that multi-subject participate in,which makes the dialogue becomes an equal performance of 'polyphony' and 'Carnival'.Based on the main points of the "dialogue theory",the paper divides the "topic" of social media function into six features:Internet users group function,Network community building functions,Topic releasing function,Topic convergence,recommendation and discovery function;Topic discussion,dialogue,participation function,Topic spread and diffusion function and so on.The above six functions are roughly classified into two categories:Social function and media function.According to the correspondence of every kind of "topic" function and the point of view of "dialogue theory",this thesis discusses the "topic" function of social media on its developing and operating condition and impact on the transmission of the news with chapters and sections.From the third chapter to the eighth chapter,according to the division of the social media,this paper analyzes the "dialogue" of the "topic" function of social media.This thesis mainly discusses the technical performance of the 'topic function'and its influence on the information communication,especially on the news communication.On Web1.0 era,the majority of people are only the content of the Internet browser.The right of building the network content still belong to the specific authorities and institutions as in the traditional media era.Web2.0's social media topic function changes and subverts the model and concept of network communications,which opens the network content construction permissions to the ordinary users.Instead of saying that Web2.0 is the innovation of network technology,it is better to say that the concept of network communication is changed.The 'topic' in the social media as a link lets users of social media connected to each other.With the support of Six degrees of separation theory,it realizes the function of people gathering,a group of points,"people to meet" in social media.The formation of network community provides dialogue a field to individuals met in the network.The private space and public space of network dialogue were born in the network community of social media.This community has managers and management rules,the relationship between people is relatively diverse and loose,but they have a sense of identity and sense of belonging.Because the network community has the characteristics of free entry and free discussion,which makes the network community has some attribute of "public space" in the theory of dialogue.However,private and public property symbiosis in the Internet community and public discussion among the participants has divergence by age and degree which makes the public property affected.'Topic' of social media function also achieves the technical equality and empowers the media to open the Intersubjectivite dialogue among users.Dialogue and interaction in social media topics has the character of centrifugal force and centripetal force which has multiple themes and diverse expressions.The topic discussion presents the multi-factor of the subject and the discourse.Under the cover of anonymous network discussion,there has been a hubbub Carnival situation.This kind of polyphony and carnival situation brings great influence on the information dissemination of social media.On the one hand,the topic function of social media brings positive influence that the information communication returns to the dialogue mode,on the other hand,it brings problems which cannot be ignored,such as the violence of internet and information cocoons which disturb the information cognition.In a word,the 'topic' function of social media brings many positive effects to the public discussion,the construction of network public space and the dissemination of news.At the same time,it also brings some problems that can not be ignored.
