A Research On "Dialogue" In CCTV's Dialogue Program

As an elite TV finance-themed talk show,CCTV's Dialogue plays an essential role in Chinese TV culture.Since its releases,Dialogue consistently adhering to idea of elite culture,focusing on affecting influential people and providing calm thinking as well as wise voices about nation's economic and social development.It often triggers very constructive “public dialogue” on social,economic and even political issues,which helps encouraging citizens to take part in public discourse.CCTV's Dialogue its self is such an indicative example,thus makes dialogues in this program also quite valuable to study.Research in this article found that the power of different dialogists in this program were unbalanced and their positions were leveled.High-level guests were the core of dialogue while normal audiences usually stayed on the fringes.At this time,subjectivity of dialogists still needed to be highlighted.In Dialogue,space where dialogue happened were keep investigated,status of space in physical sense gradually became equal as distance between people got shorter,and space of sense flow were stereotyped.Dialogue under this kind of condition has deep impacts on dialogists' psychological states and expansion of meanings of dialogues.the core of the Dialogue is content,both dialogists as well as spaces were here to serve it.Strategy of high-end oriented is the key feature of this program and the lacking of critical conversation is also an issue must to be noted,especially when having dialogue with national society.Surely,the dialogue cannot avoid the influences from politics,culture,society and some micro“anti-conversational” factors in this program.To achieve the real goal of “dialogue”,further efforts are needed.However,although improvement are needed within conversational aspects,the Dialogue in itself still plays an important part in Chinese TV culture ecology.This article examined “dialogue” in the Dialogue program by using approaches which combined the content analysis,literature analysis and textual analysis,using Dialogue Theory as a guide.It investigated “anti-conversational” factors in the program and therefore proposed some recommendations on TV culture's development.
