A Study On The Traumatic Narrative Of The New Period Literature

Accompanied by the Chinese social,political and literary transformation,the narrative literary works recreating and representing the history of the ten-year Cultural Revolution and the traumatic memory forms the traumatic narrative sight of the new period literature.Written on the basis of traumatic theory,this thesis takes the traumatic narrative works in the new era from 1976 to 1989 as the study subject,makes a careful study on the traumatic subject expression,the traumatic psychological description and the traumatic narrative forms from traumatic narrative field,reviews the constructing course of the traumatic narrative of the new period literature,grasps the types and features,the inheritance and development of the traumatic narrative of the new period literature,thus deepening the cognition of the new period literary trend.Trauma,a word with rich implications,experiences a continuous developing and enriching course from physiology to psychology,and then to social culture.As the important means to translate the trauma from visual or auditory forms to text forms,the literary traumatic narrative is also a main way to reproduce the traumatic events and show the traumatic symptoms.According to the different emphasis and orientation,the literary traumatic narrative in new period mainly falls into four types which include family traumatic narrative,social traumatic narrative,collective traumatic narrative and female traumatic narrative.Not having get rid of the bound of the political consciousness,the family traumatic narrative of the new period literature goes through the change from exposing social problems to paying attention to mental internal injury,from echoing political demand to highlighting the traumatic psychology.Through the consubstantial metaphorical writing of the trauma suffered by the country and nation,the family traumatic narrative forms the homogenous traumatic narrative type,which not only satisfies the traumatic psychological needs of the trauma victims,but also caters to the political needs of the society and history in the new period.Under the specification and guidance of the political consciousness,the family traumatic narrative is not only a literary reflection of the traumatic history made bythe writers,but also a keenness for the traumatic subject of the writers inspired by the strong political consciousness.The social traumatic narrative of the new period literature not only highlights the individual consciousness of the writers,but also attaches importance to display the traumatic society from multi-dimensional levels,such as order,ethnics,faith,and so on.During the course of the traumatic construction,which goes from the political metaphor to social culture,the social traumatic narrative works present different fates in Chinese contemporary literary history because of the difference of the speech perspective,the discourse posture and the trauma degree of the Culture Revolution.The social traumatic narrative of combining the individual traumatic memory and the social history further releases the literary consciousness and critic spirit of the writers by adopting heterogeneous traumatic narrative form,peculiar individual speech and writing posture.Under the impact of modern consciousness,the collective traumatic narrative of the new period literature breaks through the established grand view of history,focuses on the individual meaning of life and the spirit world of the trauma victims from the perspective of cultural trauma,transmitting the traumatic psychology such as emptiness,confusion,anxiety and bewilderment which the modern people suffered under the collision of traumatic history and social reality.The collective traumatic narrative focuses on the various symptoms of the trauma among the memorial sites,brings them into the public vision and traumatic study,spotlights the ex post feature of the trauma,presents the imagery traumatic narrative form,tries to make a high collective reflection of the Culture Revolution,which is a further development in the construction process of the traumatic narrative of the new period literature.The female traumatic narrative of the new period literature not only has the simultaneous chorus with no gender consciousness to the traumatic speech of the country and the nation,but also has the variable sigh of the female individual trauma in particular life experience and the courageous call with gender consciousness for the female spiritual pursuits and ontology desire.The female traumatic narrative works tend to accurately grasp and transmit the peculiar traumatic psychology of the female trauma victims through the description of the disease imagery.While making an anatomy of the female survival dilemma,life value,mental trauma and tragic destiny,etc,the female traumatic narrative shows different traumatic narrative forms and witnesses the hard growing process of thefemale trauma victims to look for the spiritual home.In general,there are triple paradoxes in the traumatic narrative of the new period literature,which include the paradox between the traumatic consciousness and the social norm,the individual memory and the collective memory,the traumatic subject and the traumatic form.The ideological discourse taboo in the traumatic narrative of the new period literature shows that the history of the Culture Revolution and the traumatic memory not only has a profound impact on the mental trauma of the Chinese,but also shows the hard process of the trauma narrative construction.The traumatic narrative of the new period literature,as the literary witness,the soothing and treating means,and the reconsideration and reflection of the trauma made by the Culture Revolution,provides a literary way to approach the historical truth and go into the historical memory.
