The Study Of Psychological Biography Of Hongxue

On the basis of the first eighty chapters of the Dream of the Red Chamber,the relationship between the academic achievements,the life pursuit,and the ideology of four well-known redologists in the 20th century:Lu Xun,Hu Shi,Wang Guowei and Cai Yuanpei is explored in this paper,in combination with the textual research of historical materials about Cao Xueqin’s family and the reporting results relating to the redology by applying psychobiographic analysis.By a depth interpretation of Jia Baoyu’s five important life stories,the paper has reconstructed the inner psychological trajectory of Cao Xueqin’s life story and his spiritual exploration,so as to further analyze its theme,to realize the spiritual connotation of the stories in the novel,the author’s life stories and the life stories of the redologists.Literature is humanism,and only the practice of returning to a person’s life story is the real embodiment of its vitality.This paper is constituted of the introduction part and other five chapters.The first chapter is about the theory of the redology psychobiography.This chapter analyzes the origin of the redology and briefly overviewes and criticizes the history of redology and presentes a unique psychobiographic interpretation of the research of four well-known redologists in the 20th century:Lu Xun,Hu Shi,Wang Guowei and Cai Yuanpei so as to explore their unique psychological connection between their academic achievements and their own life value and pursuit.The second chapter is the study of Cao Xueqin’s life story.The psychobiographic analysis is applied in this chapter to interpret the essential five stories of the leading character Jia Baoyu,namely Born with Jade,Pledge before Wood and Stone,Perfect Marriage,Whitehead Binary and Farewell on a Cliff.These five images have always been the artistic crystallization of the Dream of the Red Chamber receiving endless interpretation and research.They represent five vital life stages of Cao Xueqin:birth,love affair,marriage,the newborn and the ending.The five life stories are set as five suspense in this chapter,namely the "koan" or "core suspense"(a core enchantment),to undertake a deep exploration,so as to outline a unique objective life journey of Cao Xueqin;more importantly,his inner psychological confusion,spiritual pursuit and final life value,which is the spiritual message of the Dream of the Red Chamber.The third chapter is tears of love.This chapter is the further interpretation of the theme--"emotion" in the Dream of the Red Chamber.The most prominent psychological sentiment indicator "tears"--the tears of men and women is selected to explain the defects of human nature,psychological abnormality,even spiritual torture caused by the feudal culture for eliminating the affection of people.Cao Xueqin’s "Dream of the Red Chamber" is like Nv Wa mending the sky to have mended the cultural defects of Chinese traditional feudalism society.At the same time,the Dream of the Red Chamber starting from the commonness of human deep psychological needs has constructed a consensus with the Indian Buddhist culture and the Western Christian culture,which is a root cause for Redology to be a hot academic point and gradually develop into an international fashionable research.The fourth chapter is the significance of the Dream of the Red Chamber for Cao Xueqin himself.Based on the theories of Freud’s iceberg,from psychological dimensions of consciousness and subconsciousness respectively,this chapter analyzes the subjective purpose and creative practice(in the rich connotations of six titles respectively)and the subconscious mental healing of Cao Xueqin to produce the Dream of the Red Chamber.The point that the Grand View Garden is Cao Xueqin’s unconscious mental healing garden is further illustrated to interpret the spiritual effect and subtle influence for the readers’ spiritual purification and psychological self-healing.The fifth chapter is the conclusion:further thinking on the Dream of the Red Chamber.The 20th century redology research is briefly summarized and the emerging development of redology culture is generally introduced,as well as my psychological awareness about the study of the Dream of the Red Chamber.Research method of this paper are as follows:First,intensive reading of the text,textual researches and criticisms of the Dream of the Red Chamber,to lay the groundwork for further research and innovation.Second,psychobiography,its related theories and counseling practice are applied for a depth analysis and interpretation.Third,the theories of Campbell’sl mythology research,feminism,literature treatment are referred to undertake an interdisciplinary research.
