In this article, aesthetic research is made on the art rheology of realism and aesthetic representation since the new period, with the object of study being the realistic oil painting since the new period, and systematic and deep exploration is made in the selected topic in a dialectical and developmental insight.Realism is an important way with which the art grasps the world, because the veracity, typicality, objectivity, and humanism spirit emphasized by realism endow the art with continuous and unique aesthetic character. Realism has ties of consanguinity with Chinese culture and art in the 20th century. In the beginning of the 20th century, the western culture became the ideal pattern through which Chinese culture sought modernity by reformation,and realism was introduced into China as a conscientious selection of Chinese culture. In the whole 20th century, the realistic art played a very important role in China and constituted the main aspects of artistic creation, which truly reflected the real scenery of Chinese society in different stages within the one hundred years. It could be said that if there was no realism,there would be no classic art works in China in the 20th century, and realism played an important role in the development history of Chinese art and was of important meaning both for the realistic creation practice and for the realistic theories themselves in China.The realistic art since the new period is an extremely important historical period in the development of realism, and is also the period when significant turn and change happen to the realistic art. The realistic art went through ups and downs in the torrent of history comprised of recovery, diversified exploration, marginalized challenge and modern revitalization, and constructed the abundant, varied, steady and massive picture of art in the history since the new period. The realistic art since the new period was slightly different with the realistic art in other historical stages of the 20th century and embodied the features of faster development,more complex phenomenon,more diversified styles, more conscientious creation, and more abundant achievements, and such realistic art creation provides vivid and abundant resources and objects for theoretical research. Therefore, under such a background, the article adopts the global research approach and the art history philosophy methods, and regards the historical condition of the realistic art since the new period as a whole object to investigate its dynamic state, to reflect on its development, and to examine the difference between different stages in the global object, thereby revealing the variability of the difference and the globality of the variation, and restoring the art into the factors existing in the organic society with the method of integration of history of ideas, history of art and history of philosophy. In the article, the realistic art since the new period is divided into such three research stages as 1980s, 1990s and after 2000 according to the longitudinal clue of time and the internal logic of development of the realistic art, and in each historical stage the historical and cultural context, the feature of thought and the state of art are restored and the periodical display form of development of the realistic art is presented, thereby deeply analyzing the different aesthetic connotation and aesthetic characteristics of the realistic art in each new historical stage, placing realism in a dynamic process of development to master, and seeking to master the research object more accurately.In this article, the historical development of the realistic theories are teased, the opening system of development of realism is argued,the basic connotation of realism is defined,and the "truthfulness" of the basic category of realism is teased in a historical way and is elaborated in a developmental way, thereby forming a necessary theoretical framework and premise for the research of the realistic art since the new period of China.Based upon this, this article takes the classic realistic art theory and the contemporary development of the realistic theories as the double theory resources, to carry out deep and specific research over the features of individual creation and group creation of the realistic art since the new period, to exhibit the new features of development of the realistic art and its internal aesthetic logic,and to elaborate the development process of the realistic art since the new period of China.The period from 1979 to 1989 is the recovery period of the realistic art in the new period,and the realistic art in the 1980s is of significant milestone meaning and is also of important enlightenment meaning for the subsequent realistic art. The social and cultural context such as the reform and opening up, bringing order out of chaos, and enlightenment and introspection in the 1980s provided best cultural thought space for the temporal realistic art creation. The liberation of ideology, the soaring of subjectivity, the awareness of human, and the ontological return of art creation endows the realistic art in the 1980s with a brand-new aesthetic orientation and creation dimension. In the social and cultural context and the specific art context in the 1980s, such two display forms of the realistic art in this stage as the scar art and the local realistic art are deeply studied,and the aesthetic representation of narratives in realistic art in the 1980s is explored. In 1980s, the western modern art and the western modern art theories widely entered China,and generated new impact and enlightenment over the realistic art in 1980s and 1990s.The influence of the western modem art and the 85 new wave art movement on realism is analyzed, and their inherent connection and a certain type of coherence are revealed in two distinctly different creation methods, and here there is both the theoretical problem of the extension extent of realism and the theoretical problem of diversification of realism.The period from 1990 to 1999 is the period when the realist art transformed and experienced diversified development. The development context of the realism in 1990s is different with that in 1980s, because the comprehensive rising of commodity economy and mass culture on the one hand and the development rule of the artists themselves on the other hand caused the individual artist to change in respect of social psychology and art psychology, which made the realistic art to generate new scenery. In the article, such two display forms of the realistic art as the new generation art and the cynical realistic art are deeply analyzed in the social and cultural context and the art ecology in 1990s, and the aesthetic features of narratives in realistic art in the 1990s are explored.The period after 2000 is the reconstruction period of the realistic art. After 2000, the realistic art doesn’t generate the explicit display forms of the ideological trend of the realistic art like those in 1980s and 1990s, such as the scar art, local realistic art, and the cynical realistic art, and in respect of this, there are both the reason of art itself and the reason of the era and social culture. However, realism has gained practical and steady development in the past over 10 years of the 21st century, and the realistic creation of the major historical themes of the country and the presentation of the contemporary real life of China become the two creation forms of realism in the new century. At the beginning of the new century, the cycle of the art theories and the cycle of the art creation began to reflect on the marginalization of realism and on being impacted by the modernism art since 1990s,and brought forward the appeal of "revitalizing realism",and great achievements were made in the field of art creation of the major historical themes of the country and art creation reflecting the modern real life. In this article, the research of the realistic art in the 21st century is rooted in the self-confidence of the national culture and the self-confidence of art, to analyze the specific display forms of the realistic art and to elaborate the national and contemporary expression of the realistic art, thereby revealing the aesthetic representation of narratives in realistic art.General Secretary Xi Jinping issued his Speech at Forum on Literature and Art Work in 2014 through which the present art creation is radically reformed and the charm of realism becomes more outstanding. In the 21st century, we need to exhibit a kind of new realism,to require realism in the height of shaping national spirit and spirit of the time, which provides a new through approach and a bigger development space for the development of realism. In the article, the rationality and inevitable requirements existing in the realistic arts are explored in such aspects as the specific current social situation, art situation and art requirements.
