In fact, for each individual in the society, memory can be seen as "external evoke" thus whether or how the individual memory was called back depends on that whether or not the group and society they belong to could encourage them to recall some sort of memory through providing them the framework for the memory. In this sense, we face collective memory beyond the individual memory. The core theory of collective memory is:First of all, collective memory constructed the history based on the moment. When people who wanted to set his sight on "the past" he would be affected by the restrictions of current ideology."The past" people reconstructed is the construction of the contemporary society and the memory depends on the need, benefit and expectation of humans at present. Secondly, despite the fact that "the past" remained the same, memories about "the past" for people in different period differs with the attitude and the way people use to view the past, and the changes of the framework for illustration and integration by the society. Thirdly, there are many social frameworks for the collective memory. They intersected and overlapped partially until the very one played the dominated role during the exact period. Therefore, collective memory becomes the struggled field for the various social power who tried to create memory beneficial for themselves. Collective memory has been reached as a result for the powers fight, negotiate and borrow from each other. It is precisely in the process that memory of people about the past has changed. This dissertation reviewed revolutionary historical movies and TV series through the theory of collective memory. In the first place, this article established the basic framework for the study of the new century's image revolutionary historical memory by sorting out the social context of the contemporary changes of the new century from the vertical dimension of history, and producing a detailed discussion for the real revolution in historical movies and TV series from political, economic and cultural context. Politically, China has been into post revolutionary era since the new period. In the process of depoliticization, the meaning of revolution has taken a deep transformation. In culture, mainstream culture, mass culture and elite culture infiltrate and fused, creating the situation with symbiosis of multiple cultures. As a part of component of social culture and reflection for inner world of people, image revolutionary historical memory is invertible for deep impact of social politics, economy and culture, with their significance and core idea changing in pace with the offsets of the whole social cultural filed. In the following, the dissertation gives us a comprehensive analysis of revolutionary medium text rendering of the historical memory in the transverse dimension. This dissertation analyzed symbols and text of imagery revolutionary historical memory through memories of the war, memories of the hero and memories of the love. Following the internal logic relationship when discussing each topic, it went along the thoughts of "what to express","how to express","characterized by what" and "what the differences are with the past". In addition, it focused on what new characters of revolutionary historical movies and TV series occurred in the new century. This analysis is always in the theoretical view of collective memory, and obtain the theoretical resources from communication, cultural studies, film and art related fields. Through the analysis, this article reveals that though revolutionary historical movies and TV series still have vaguely echo of the history, they has shown a lot of new features in the historical ideas, imagery styles and narrative techniques and reconstructed the historical memory for people. It can be clearly seen that revolutionary historical movies and TV series has obvious constructed features, therefore, it is necessary to explain the relationship between power and memory. In this manner with the production, dissemination, consumption and recognition, this article illustrates the structural factors forming historical memory in four dimensions from political power, commercial power, power creators and audience power. By discussing the operating strategy between the power of medium and other social systems, the visible and invisible factors including the force and collusion, and the domination and being dominated, and pressure and tension restrict the production and the spread of revolutionary history memory. The author intends to explore the deep-seated cultural meaning and power behind the revolutionary historical movies and TV series integrally. We can see that various force construct historical memory of people through different strategies and techniques. They weave and tore the big net called revolutionary history by abandoning historical memory in varying ways, or writing and writing them up, or subverting and consuming them. In this situation, it is invertible for revolutionary historical memory with embarrassment and dislocation. In the end, this dissertation investigates the current value of anomie that occurs when the revolutionary historical movies and TV series construct collective memory. It criticizes and reconsider the trend of consumerism nihilism and ultranationalism in the revolutionary historical movies and TV series. The abuse of revolutionary memory not only weakened the national cognition to revolutionary history, but also hurt the emotions of people.
