The user-centered design has become the modern industrial design concept,which focuses on tacit knowledge such as user’s perception,experience,feeling,preference.As one of the most important stages of product design,Product conceptual design is knowledge-intensive creative work,its essence is the evolution of knowledge.Because Product conceptual design implies a large complex of tacit knowledge,to organize and use this part of knowledge not only is the key to the success of the product conceptual design even the product design,but also is the embodiment of the user-centered design concept,and the hotspot and difficulty of modern design theory and method research.Therefore,the research on tacit knowledge conversion and reuse for conceptual design and improving the quality of product conceptual design,is of great significance.This study is a multi-subject work which involves mechanical engineering,industrial design,cognitive psychology,computer science,artificial intelligence,management statistics etc.This dissertation began with the study of the product concept design stage knowledge evolution and cognitive model,and made a thorough study on the sources,acquisition,analysis,formalization,matching,conversion and reuse of tacit knowledge,and eventually the tacit knowledge-based computer aided conceptual design(TKRB-CACD)system was developed.The main research content and innovation points were as follows:1.Based on the knowledge evolution of product conceptual design stage and the semantic and perceptual cognition model,the concept of user’s perception and preference and multi-perception were proposed.Through the study of tacit knowledge in design field,the tacit knowledge was divided into three categories: user’s tacit knowledge,design tacit knowledge,product tacit knowledge.Then,their acquisition and explicit methods were studied respectively.2.The tacit knowledge source was analyzed based on its classification.The tacit knowledge acquisition method based on sentiment analysis and the CNC machine tools design knowledge acquisition method based on the modelling image cognitive experiment were proposed.Then,an approach for analyzing the tacit knowledge based on factor analysis(FA)and cluster analysis(CA)was proposed.Application process and procedure of the proposed method were described by a case of CNC machine tools design.The case study results revealed that the tacit knowledge was extracted effectively.The method of constructing tacit knowledge mapping model based on multi-dimensional variable kansei engineering(MVKE)was proposed.The performance of the MVKE mapping model was evaluated by a case study.In order to achieve the organization,transfer and use of the tacit knowledge,the tacit knowledge formalization method based on graphical semantic and extension theory was proposed.3.The tacit knowledge explicit,transfer and matching model were constructed based on theory research to realize the conversion of tacit knowledge.Based on research on knowledge transfer mechanism of product conceptual design,a new tacit knowledge matching approach based on latent semantic analysis(LSA)and kansei engineering(KE)was presented.The case study results revealed that the LSA-KE approach significantly improved matching accuracy.4.For the evaluation and decision-making of conceptual design schemes,a decision method based on grey relational analysis and technique for order preference by similarity to an Ideal solution(TOPSIS)was put forward to achieve convergence of tacit knowledge.Firstly,the method of building design decision support database based on linear regression and neural network were proposed.Then,the method of considering both the location and the shape of the design scheme data curve was put forward.Finally,the decision results of the three methods were compared by a case study.5.To reuse the tacit knowledge and aid product conceptual design effectively,this dissertation carried out a large number of case study of CNC machine tools design and constructed TKRB-CACD system by combining the study on theoretical and experimental validation.The system was designed three function modules for tacit knowledge management,tacit knowledge reuse,product design decision to realize the organization,transformation,reuse,and convergence of the tacit knowledge.The scientific and practical of the system were verified by the application results.
