"Ultrasonic Wave Movement" was a mass movement mainly intended to popularize "primitive ultrasonic generators" during the period of the "Great Leap Forward".This movement is served as a typical example to reflect the relationship between technology and society during that time.And the thesis conducts thematic studies from such perspectives as history of technology,history of policy,technology and society.Here are the main contents of the thesis based on the extensive collection of data and materials.Firstly,the thesis described the popularization of ultrasonic technology and the achieved outcomes in the 1950s,as well as the influence "Great Leap Forward" had on the extension of ultrasonic technology.Secondly,the process of "Ultrasonic Wave Movement" from the initial stage to the booming period is systematically introduced and the scale of the movement is also estimated based on the collected data and analyses.In addition,the thesis describes the over expansion of the secrecy scope and analyses its reasons.Thirdly,by presenting some typical examples,it investigates the development of"Ultrasonic Wave Movement" in different fields and departments,and also analyses the application of the ultrasonic devices in these fields and departments.Finally,the main categories of "primitive ultrasonic generators",especially the characteristic ones are introduced.Also,their features and functions are generally evaluated.Above all,the thesis summarizes the reasons why the movement ended in failure from different perspectives,analyses the ideological roots lying behind the irrational actions,investigates the effects the movement had on production,the popularization of advanced technology and the scientific research,analyses the performance of professional scientific and technical personnel.
