With the acceleration of economic globalization and regionalization processes, port agglomeration and clustering has become the irresistible trend of world space carrier development. Port cluster logistics linkage has become the urgent requirement of port enterprise’s own development based on this background. But, for the specific content of port cluster logistics linkage, no matter in the behavior of level, or in a joint collaborative performance level, the lack of system analysis and summary. This to promote the large-scale port logistics enterprise integration ability, to effectively play the collaboration between ports, port clusters, logistics enterprises and trade companies had a very bad effect. Such adverse effect is reflected not only in the lack of port cluster act together to carry out specific guidance, but also in the port cluster is difficult to obtain a better linkage collaborative performance. Based on this, this paper used port management theory, port logistics theory and supply chain collaboration theory, and combined with the quantitative modeling tools of game theory and structural equation model theory and methods, from the perspective of qualitative analysis and quantitative modeling, carried out a systematic theoretical and empirical research on port cluster logistics linkage mode. The main contents of this paper are elaborated on below.Firstly, this paper put forward that the collaborative mode of port supply chain was becoming a future development mode of port cluster logistics linkage based on the reviews of port logistics theory, port cluster evolution theory, supply chain theory, port merger and combined ports construction, port cooperation and strategic alliances, and the research status of port supply chain. In addition, this paper built a single port supply chain model, a port supply chain model with dry feeder combination ports at the core, and a port supply chain model with trunk port at the core. Next, the paper illustrated the possibility and inevitability of port supply chain collaboration.Secondly, this paper constructed a theoretical research framework of linkage mode of port cluster logistics in supply chain environment, and analyzed the connotation of port supply chain collaboration and the collaborative strategy in practice. To solve the problems of why port supply chain collaboration, under what conditions collaborative, with whom collaboration and how collaborative, this paper analyzed the motivation of port supply chain collaboration, collaborative conditions, and collaborative partners selection. More over, it put forward the organizational mechanisms, incentives and operational coordination mechanisms.Thirdly, the paper built a compact design model of port supply chain collaboration, including pooled supply chain design model of the effect of multiple ports’horizontal cooperation pricing on the benefits of port supply chain and related enterprises, and distributed supply chain design model of the effect of multiple shipping companies’ horizontal cooperation pricing on the benefits of port supply chain and related enterprises. The results of pooled supply chain design model indicated that multiple ports’horizontal cooperation pricing or horizontal cooperation pricing between multiple ports and single shipping company in port supply chain would produce the best total revenue to the entire port supply chain and related ports and shipping companies. The results of distributed supply chain design model indicated that port enterprises had some excitation to increase the total of shipping companies. The larger the total of shipping companies, the better is the revenue of entire port supply chain. When the total number of shipping companies reaches a certain number, these shipping companies will form a combo (entitative or virtual organizations). When under the situation of only limited ordering decisions and operating costs unchanged, although the ratio of the number of liner companies involved in alliances less than a certain proportion, the port enterprises and liner companies will achieve a win-win.Lastly, according to the throry of industrial organization of structure-conduct-performance, the paper divided the element of port supply chain cooperative capability into two portions (structural elements and behavioral elements) based on the evaluation indicators systems of port supply chain cooperative capability and cooperative performance. Further more, this paper developed a concept research model of the relationship between cooperative structural elements, cooperative behavioral elements and cooperative performance. The results of the empirical study indicated that the concept research model fit well, which verified the validity of the theoretical research framework of linkage mode of port cluster logistics in supply chain environment in reverse. In addition, the findings indicated that the structural elements and the behavioral elements of port supply chain collaboration had a positives effect on the performance of port supply chain collaboration. However, the structural elements of port supply chain collaboration not entirely had a positives effect on the behavioral elements of port supply chain collaboration.
