The cleft palate patients are deeply disturbed in the nasal resonance dysfunction especially the hypernasality, which could affects the clarity and intelligibility of speech to some extent differently, in a consequence that leads to a significantly negative impact on their mentation and life quality. Exploring a scientific and accurate assessment will play a key role in the treatment of children with cleft palate of hypernasality, that is to say solving the problem of hypernasality will improves the intelligibility and fluency of speech and help them to have a better social interaction.By combing the evaluation theories of hypernasality domestic and overseas, the study found that the current fields of research and clinic always adopt the combination of subjective judgment and objective measurement to assess hypernasality, however, the subjective assessment materials from abroad and in are not unified, and the objective measurement is featured by a single dimension parameter, as a result, for hypernasality, we can not make a comprehensive and scientific evaluation. Therefore, firstly the study considers internationally accepted principles as foundation, combining with the characteristics of Chinese to design the perceptional assessment tools of the hypernasality; Secondly, from multidimensional angles (acoustic, electrophysiological and aerodynamics), we could extract some parameters which could reflect the sensitivity and reliability of nasal hypernasality and by probing the relationship between parameters and perception, we could establish a multi-parameter model of hypernasality. The main phrased research results obtained in this study are as follows:In accordance with internationally accepted principles and scoring criteria of evaluation test corpus, the study layouted the perceptional assessment tools, which include13single-syllable words and16phrases with5words, that can be used in clinical evaluation to judge the presence of hypernasality or the severity.By applying the perceptional tools of hypemasality, we took a study on the relationship between Multidimensional objective parameters and perceptional hearing sense, found the parameters of sensitivity and reliability, and completed the establishment of a multi-parameter evaluation model:HNSI=-0.129+1.743XMNS-0.031XSGP.The model, which is57.35%consistency with the subjective assessment, can be used for the objectively evaluation of hypernasality...
