The alignment and survey of accelerators is a key factor for the construction and runningof accelerators, which aims to solve relating problems on the positioning of acceleratorcomponents with high accuracy in the large scale dimension. Reasonable methods can ensurethe alignment of magnets in order to avoid decreasing the beam quality and lifetime.Furthermore, it can be used to monitor the deformation of the beam line and to adjust theposition of components. Finally, it can realize the feasibility of physical experiment and thereliability of the accelerators.First, the thesis discusses the theories and technologies, which are related to alignmentand survey of accelerators systematically. Then, based on the current latest techniques ofalignment and survey of accelerators with the laser trackers, combined with the cases study ofprojects of Heavy Ion Research of Facility in Lanzhou–Cooling Storage Ring (HIRFL-CSR)and Heavy Ion Medical Machine (HIMM), the Digital Method of the Alignment of Large IonAccelerator has been proposed. Third,it put emphasis on the allocation of uncertainty ofalignment, the performance testing of the laser trackers, the3D control network and the digitalinstallation, etc. All of these insure high accuracy and reliability of the alignment ofaccelerators.In this thesis, the results of alignment and installation of the large ion accelerator focusedon the following aspects:1. The process of the alignment of accelerator is composed of component fiducialisition,survey network and position adjustment after the study of the properties of survey andalignment of accelerators and the design of the reference targets. Meanwhile, solving the3Dposition of components with “7parameters” can complete the process of the digital alignment on accelerators.2. The testing the laser tracker of API T3and Leica AT401and analyzing theirapplications in the surveying network can show that the API T3has the outstanding advantagein the distance measurement, and the AT401has the advantage in the stable anglemeasurement. The advantage performances of them are used in the survey of the3D controlnetwork.3. Through studying of the3D survey control network in the alignment of large ionaccelerators, the Unified Spatial Metrology Network adjustment model is more adapted tosolve the3D control survey network. At the same time, points of uncertainty analysis aregained, digital levels and scale bars are integrated in the3D control survey network, thereference frame with the multipoint is implemented, etc, which are complete applications ofthe3D control survey network in the alignment and survey of large ion accelerators. Finally,the standard uncertainty of alignment in CSR reached0.1mm.Based on the study of the alignment of technologies, instruments and methods, analyzingthe accuracy of the alignment of magnets with the Statistics Process Control, the alignment ofmagnets in the Cooling Storage Ring can ensure the beam stability. Moreover, based on abovethe methods, a perfect scheme is designed for the survey strategy of the HIMM.
