Research On The Development Of Urban Tburism Industry

China’s tourism industry has experienced the stages of formation,rapid growth and steady development since1978and now has developed into one of the fastest growing industries and a new growth point of China’s national economy. As the core and foundation of the development of China’s tourism industry, urban tourism has made an important contribution to the rapid prosperity and growth of China’s tourism industry in the past35years.The industrial status of tourism industry in the urban economy has raised to become a key industry and one of the pillar industries of urban tertiary industry and has also become the core of urban vigorously development of tertiary industry so as to optimize the urban industrial structure. So in depth study of the development of urban tourism industry is not only the objective requirement of promoting the development of china’s tourism industry but also the reality need of optimizing the allocation of the tourism system so as to optimize the urban industrial structure and promote the urban economic growth.Although the overall urban tourism industry has shown a scene of prosperity and development, we are concerned about the differences in the development of urban tourism industry,especially the regional differences in tourism industry of the eastern,cental and western cities showing the different characteristics of the development. The essence of these different characteristics is the macro performance under the influence of microscopic mechanism of the development of the tourism industry. Therefore we can analysis the micro-influencing factors under the macroscopic characteristics of the development of urban tourism industry in order to study the breakthrough point to grasp,refine and indentify the mode of development of urban tourism of the growth center of eastern,central,and western regions. To make out what factors are the key factors that contribute to the urban development of the tourism industry and what factors are the restrict factors that hinder the development of the tourism industry in different development modes. Distinguishing the mode of development of urban tourism with an breakthrough point of its factors and refining and summarizing the characteristics of the development paths and effects of urban tourism industry in the growth centers of eastern,central,and western cities will play a demonstration effect for the other cities with similar industrial development conditions in the eastern,central,and western regions and provide reference of development mode and development path selection for other cities to improve the tourism industry system,enhance and optimize the structure of tourism industry. All of these have an important practical significance and research necessity.This dissertation is based on the above consideration to explore a qualitative and quantitative research on the development of urban tourism industry following the research steps of raising issues, literature review, definition, theoretical analysis, empirical research and policy advice.This dissertation combs the theoretical basis of the development of tourism industry combined with the theory of tourism economics,industry economics,urban economics and management science and has a systematic review of the current domestic and international progress in the theoretical and empirical research on the development of urban tourism industry which provides a theoretical basis for the follow-up chapters and establish the breakthrough point for this dissertation.The research literature of urban tourism industry from a development perspective is considerately less and more focus on the changing nature and industrial status of the tourism industry and stages of its development from a macro qualitative angle. Some scholars studied on the development mode or driven mode of urban tourism industry but without a full consideration of the systemic,structural and inherent correlations of the development of urban tourism industry.Therefore it’s hard for them to isolate key factors that affect the urban tourism industry and indentify the development mode.And mostly stay in the qualities analysis and little quantitative research to determine and indentify the development mode of urban tourism industry.The rare quantitative research is focused on the static performance of the development of urban tourism industry at a particular time point,lack of analysis of the dynamic evolution of its development which makes the research of the development of urban tourism development and its dynamic evolution quite inadequate.For these reasons,this dissertation will be to some extent make up for the lack of previous studies and have a systemic,integrated and dynamic research on the influence factors,development modes and effects which will have a great theory significance on the academic research of urban tourism industry.The evolution of urban tourism industry is divided into two dimensions of time and space.From the time dimensions,the urban tourism industry has experienced the stages of formation,rapid growth,adjustment and optimization and the development pattern,industry function,operation mode and the product structure emerged as the periodical characteristics and changes of the stages. From the spatial dimensions.There are obvious differences between the development of urban tourism industry in eastern, cental and western regions showing a development pattern that the head cities of urban tourism growth in the eastern regions drive the development of secondary growth cities in the cental and western regions and the secondary growth cities drive the development of urban tourism of the other cities in each regions.To avoid broaden the range of urban tourism industry and to consider the status of the statistics of tourism,this dissertation firstly defines the research range of urban tourism industry. Secondly,this dissertation makes a theoretical basis of the framework of the theoretical analysis of urban tourism industry with clearing its related concept,connotation and development characteristics.Then on this basis,we takes the urban tourism industry as a complex multi-level industrial system affected by endogenous and exogenous factors.Urban tourism industry development mode as the overall development approach of the urban tourism industry reflects the development direction and characteristics of urban tourism industry. These development characteristics in essence are the macro performance under the influence of micro factors so this dissertation will study on the development mode of urban tourism industry by focusing on the micro-influencing factors hidden under the macroscopic characteristics of the development of urban tourism industry.On the basis of the reference to the relevant theory and literature research of urban tourism industry we will take the influence factors of urban tourism industry as the breakthrough point to systematically summarize the influence factors of urban tourism industry and establish a GIU theoretical analysis frame of urban tourism industry.We think the development of urban tourism industry is mainly influenced by three aspects:the policy of city government,the development of inner tourism industry and the development environment of city and each level gets different elements so as to form the GIU theoretical framework of urban tourism industry.The governmental policy (G) is a system to protect the urban tourism development and determine the direction of development of urban tourism industry.The Industrial Development (I) is the inner core of urban tourism and decide the level of tourism industry, factor allocation efficiency, industrial structure and industrial performance.The urban environment (U) is the urban environment support of urban tourism industry and determine the comparative advantage and competitive advantage of tourism industry in different cities.These three aspects of mutual promotion, mutual influence, mutual interaction determine the development of urban tourism industry.This dissertation establishers an evaluation index system of urban tourism industry on the basis of the GIU framework and selects three representative cities in eastern,cental and western regions as sample cities. The quantitative vertical stratification evaluation of urban tourism industry will be made by the approach of factors analysis and also horizontal comparison and analysis of tourism industry development mode features of three sample cities tourism revealed by the important common factors extracted,will be made to indentify the development mode of urban tourism industry in three sample cities.The results are made that the development mode of Shanghai tourism industry is a mode of "driven by inner industry,supported by governmental policies".The development mode of Wuhan tourism industry is a mode of "Driven by governmental policies and promoted by inner industry".The development mode of Guilin tourism industry is a mode of "Guided by resourses and urban environment,responsed by governmental policies."And depth interpretation and analysis are made by combining the reality development process of the urban tourism industry of three sample cities so as to evaluate and compare the development path and development effect of urban tourism industry under the different development modes.The further empirical analysis of development effect of the different development mode of urban tourism industry is carried out and the economic growth effect, industrial structure optimization effect and comprehensive social effect are respectively evaluated by the way of two sector economic model, vector auto regression model and the gray correlation analysis method.On the basis of previously research on the influence factors, development mode and development effect of urban tourism industry, this dissertation lastly carries out the upgrade path to promote urban tourism industry and gives the specific suggestions and countermeasures in the aspects of playing the guiding role of the governmental tourism industry policy, adjusting and optimizing the structure of urban tourism industry and improving the urban tourism industry development environment.
