| Cultivating University Students’ Sense of Social Responsibility is the essence of socialist modernization and the development of the times.Through positive investigation and statistical analysis of current situation and influencing factors of university students’ sense of social responsibility, this study explores the external environment and internal mechanisms of university students’ social responsibility formation. Combined with current status and theoretical analysis of social responsibility cultivation, this paper attempts to propose ideas, principles and paths for the cultivation of university students’ social responsibility.Conceptual analysis is the premise and basis of this study. In this study, the “sense of social responsibility†is defined as follows: in the absence of any systematic or power constrained situations, individuals’ attitude and emotional experience when choosing to complete moral duties concerning themselves, their families, others, collective, national and mankind actively. “Sense of social responsibility†contains the following points: sense of social responsibility is individual rather than a collective; sense of social responsibility is self-discipline rather than legal responsibility; sense of social responsibility is motivated by unity of self-love and altruism; sense of social responsibility is the unity of history and the reality in contents.Based on the concept of Sense of social responsibility strictly defined, we have compiled a more scientific and rational questionnaire to investigate current situation and influencing factors of contemporary university students’ social responsibility, which provides realistic and possible reference path for cultivating it. The empirical study show that,(â… )the general characteristics of university students’ social responsibility level is not low, it isn’t simple weak; Each dimension and Each levels of social responsiility presented "differential pattern" feature, University Students have higher Social Responsibility While facing the Object(family, himself) closing associated with his interests, But They have lower Social Responsibility While facing the Object(The nation and The Mankind) no closing associated with his interests; “deviation between knowledge and action†problem still exists; individualism and self-realization is more prominent.(â…¡) demographic variables of university students’ social responsibility shows that: "Men are different from women ", "non only-child advantage", " non student cadres demonstration effect", " urban-rural differences ", no traditional "elite " advantage, " class differences" reappearing.(â…¢) the impact of university students social responsibility were: sense of belonging, sense of self-efficacy, sense of subjectivity. It also suggests that we pay attention to the features of university students’ emotional development and the key figure or key events in specific context.Based on the empirical findings, We analyses the formation of social responsibility theoretically from external social field and internal mechanisms. External social field refers to external social factors, in which the main body is the problems contemporary university students must face up to, mainly from the impact of social transformation, the market economy, the dissemination of traditional ethical culture and the impact of Western values. Market economy would make students “Yan Li " and "Wang Yi", focus on "self-interest" and forget "altruism", full of "personality" and lack of social care. Value anomie caused by social transformation influences contemporary university students a lot. " Differential pattern" of human relationships provides university students’ social responsibility "differential" type characteristics, that’s, at the micro level college students ‘social responsibility is greater than the meso level and macro level, the sense of social responsibility to the family is higher than of self. Western pluralistic values impact university students and forms "multiple self", coupled with intrusive freedoms, rights and other thoughts, ideas of social responsibility suffered a crisis and challenges,"personal- social" relationship of different political positions affects the university students’ social responsibility.The external environment work only through the internal environment, internal environment play the decisive role of the external environment. Social responsibility is a social emotion, is the responsibility of the individual occurs in a particular context, and is the responsibility of the specific link between the individual and society. It is the individual with self, family, others, collective, national and other links in particular. “Responsibility event-Responsibility conflict " generates responsibility experience in a particular situation, by the means of needs Conflict Mechanism and affection sympathy mechanism responsibility experience continues to restructure and reorganize, which responded with a duty to update experience. Such “links- response" make sense of social responsibility along with the development of early basic emotional and become more mature, which becomes a special emotional quality.While looking back our High education, We need to notice some problems in cultivating social responsibility in current education. such as, Neglecting the body needs of University Students, fewer facing the responsibility conflict of University Students; Too much emphasis on social responsibility education indoctrination, other methods or other path is relatively simple, it can not satisfy the individual needs of University students; teachers’ emotional humanities should be improved, professional level is not high. Being aware of the existence of these problems, coupled with the presence of the external social factors for University students’ social responsibility, our higher education is facing great challenges. We can not help but deeply worried: What is University should do? Based on empirical research and theoretical analysis of university students’ sense of social responsibility, We tried to put forward practical strategies to improve students’ social responsibility, that’s, updating idea( including establishing the modern idea of the responsibility, establishing humanism view of education, establishing relational emotional outlook), under the premise of identification and understanding the idea we implement the principles(including integrity principle, subjectivity principle,the reciprocity of responsibilities and rights principle), and broaden the path( including cognitive- judgment method, participation – experience method, communication- practice method and reflection- evaluation method), and ultimately achieve “improving moral values and people cultivation†fundamental objectives. |
