’Information Age" cannot accurately describe the current social form with the continued advance of the third industrial revolution, but gradually being replaced by the age of imagination. In this new age, the importance of imagination and creativity will gradually over knowledge and information. Accordingly, the concept of personnel training, training content and training methods will also be followed by a dramatic change. It is clearly that China’s education is not yet ready for the big change, and we can even say that it is full of crises, specifically in educational purposes (the unspoken rules of moral education and ethical crisis), educational content (crisis of classroom teaching and knowledge-only education), educational method (crisis of organization management and industrialized education), educational evaluation (crisis of evaluation method and scored-onry education). Behind the each weight of education crisis are all hidden the crisis of imagination. Apparently it is the primary concern of this article on how to cultivate imaginative people, who can accommodate this coming imaginative age, by an imaginative form of education. Domain of education through imagination (ETI) also begins with this point.With the method use of Max Weber’s ideal type analysis, Imagination will be a perfect"lenticular" which can observe and study today’s society and particularly the field of education. Given the complexity of the basic theory of imagination, which need to undergo a simplification process for incorporating itself in the field of education. The family and next of kin concept of imagination will be discriminated and clarified by theory of "Occam’ s Razor". The educational property of imagination will gradually reveal itself through "educational eye". In fact, Canada (Imaginative Education), United States (Imagination Learning Capability List) and Taiwan, China (Future imaginative and creative personnel training program) have already launched a fruitful exploration on the theory of ETI. The results of exploration will provide inspiration on the transformation and creation for local ETI.Based on the analysis of these beneficial experiences, psychological tool theory of Vygotsky and’Imaginative Education" theory of Kieran Egan, The four theoretical foundations and presupposition of ETI are put forward:1)everyone has imagination and the right to imagine; 2)the ability of imagination is a process of continuous development(primary and senior imagination are progressing longitudinally, cognitive and emotional imagination are integrated horizontally); 3) imagination can be taught (based on psychological tools and the intermediary learning theory); 4)Imagination is a kind of educational methodology(through disciplinary education, civic education and moral education). It is in these theories presupposed condition, this paper went on to propose a more operational strategy system:1) curriculum organized strategies (top-down subject-centered curriculum and bottom-up problem-centered curriculum); 2) instruction designed strategies (myth, romance and philosophical stage); 3) Evaluation designed strategy (Imagination Quotient and Imagination Deficit).At the same time, we need to pay attention to three important Chinese context during the process of ETI locally transformed and created:Enlightenment of imagination right; the attitude on knowledge and reason; more focus on academic achievement Looking forward to the future development of ETI, it can be mainly divided into three levels:1)on micro-level, ETI need to establish a mature and complete teaching mode based on theory and practice; 2)on meso-level, ETI should break through the limitation of its own imagination, from imagination-centered ETI to education-centered ETI, and provide more possibility for the whole education system; 3)on macro-level, ETI need to break through the educational system and provide educational position and scale for the development of Ihe society by fully playing the educational or pedagogical imagination,. It is the mission and responsibility for educators to establish a kingdom of Education, and it is an ideal we should never give up.
