As an important cultural phenomenon in the process of social development, the sports have been placed in a necessary approach for us to explore human being’s development in a society, among which the sports competition performance as the direct connotation and representation of sports cultural phenomenon is taken as a must for studying the western sports, and is regarded as the logical origin for the research in this present paper.The western sports competition performance exists as a historical category at first, which has experienced the ancient Greek, ancient Rome, the long Middle Ages, and finally comes to be an important cultural phenomenon nowadays with the rising of western industrial civilization. This present paper mainly focuses on the basic historical logics in western sports competition performance, the logical interaction between western civilization, western society, and western sports competition performance development, by which this paper tries to construct a basic historical structure for western sports competition performance to further explore the cultural motive force and social motive force in their development. Then, we aim to learn the basic logics in the process of development to find the logical interaction between western sports competition performance and Chinese traditional sports’ contemporary development. With the expanding of the knight’s social status, and their transform of modes in fight, which makes the competition changes from violence (fights in groups, fights with lance)to be non-violence (running a thorn ring, spear against target)with performance as their aim.
