Today, because of owning much more material wealth that ever, the people enjoysmore comfortable life. However, the updating technology and Material prosperitysharpened the alienation of man and is helpless for us to achieve happy ideal. Throughcombing and reflecting the western traditional the happiness theory, this article thinksthat virtue in happiness, which is the core of narration happiness theory, has a coremeaning. With the different understandings about human nature and relations betweenhappiness and virtue in history, those accompanying researches evolve to diversitydirection. As a representative of happiness theory science schools, Karl Marx thoughtthat "happiness" is "human’s free and all-around development". It is the association ofthe liberation and development based on the personal freedom, named "class" happiness,but not "the virtue reality activities" Aristotle considered, also not completely equal toutilitarian advocated " the greatest happiness for the greatest number.," more not Kantstated that "god" to the match. In Marxist opinion, the formation and development of thehappiness is closely related to the formation and development of human society andhistory, and a history of happiness is in the process of in the pursuit of happiness theirown nature manifests history. It is not acceptable that only from the main body innerexperiences to seek good ethics, or only a few people enjoy the happiness to coverethics class of good practices.Follow the combining theory with practice, text inspection and theoretical analysis,the logic and the history of consistent principle, this article, based on Marx’s historicalmaterialism position, criticizes the dialectical the limitation of the western traditionaltheory of happiness, and mean that the people’s livelihood happiness for the new lifeform about Marxist happiness theory in contemporary Chinese. And, it believes that the people’s livelihood happiness should be harmony, unity and use virtue theory, utilitarianhappiness, obligations happiness, and the Marx’s theory of happiness in contemporaryreality China. How to build such a harmonious the people’s livelihood of happiness isfaced together and emergency questions for contemporary theory and reality. The paperindicates that the happiness of the people construction should include the followingseveral parts roughly: first of all, the height of the development of productive forces andthe freedom of humanity unifies are able to meet the person’s material nature lifehappiness. Next, the person’s overall development as the foundation is the system ofhappiness, guarantying civil basic rights and obligations. Finally, in contemporaryChina, to achieve "people’s free and overall development" in the harmony of human andnature interaction, Marx had envisaged, needs to construct a happiness whichconforms to the sustainable development of the human society, the economy andecology. In short, such a "people’s livelihood happiness" should be a kind of thefulfillment and harmonious state between the people and nature, the people and societyand people themselves. Therefore, such a "people’s livelihood happiness" will inevitablyt the take the whole symbiotic social development as the highest value aim.
