Construction Of National Character Of Current Chinese Poetry:a Study Of Yang Jian’s Poetry

The Chinese contemporary poetry of early 21st century is rooted from the portry of 80&90s in last century,but it shows some new faces. On one hand, poetry is "marginalized" in social life, not like the" misty poetry ", "intelligentsia writing" and "folk stand" which had been very popular in this country.On the other hand, Chinese poetry comes into a more diversified and open era---- but influnced by digestion culture and technologism,the current Chinese poetry has fallen into a slow-development era,so it calls for a decent power from the nationality and the tradition, so that it can find a new way to survive and spring to life again.In this paper,I want to study the remarkable poet named Yang Jian,whose poetry is rooted deeply in tradition,homeland-feeling and nationality, we can see a power fighting against the influnce of modernity and post-modernity in his poetry,and we can find a way out.The key word I want to study about in this paper is "Nation character". We can see this spirit here and there in his work.1 believe we can learn a lot from this poet. The Paper are divided into introduction, body and conclusion three most chapters.In the body chapter,I want to analyse his portry word on four aspects:culture space, natural space, social space and language space.Culture space:Yang Jian’s poatry is rooted in Chinese culture,and I think he’d been trying to reflect the reality of China.He wants to tell us---tradition is our soul,we should never abandon it.Natural space:In his poarty, Yang Jian drew us a pictuer of China’s traditional agricultural civilization and homeland scenery,which showed us the ture beauty of "homeland" and "home",it’s really a refinement to the modern poetry.Raelity space:Yang Jian also tried to tell us how is the life of Chinese people like,he concerns not only one’s own feeling,but the feeling of the whole China society,especially people in countryside,so that we can see the goodness of people in the hardship----we still have hope.Language space:In his poetry, Yang Jian tried to use orirntal and vernacular language to show the original beauty of poetry.It’s simple and rough,but it showed us a great power of expression. it provided us a new perspective of poetry-writing.Obviously Yang Jian is an outstanding poet.The tradition,homeland-feeling and nationality in his poetry could be a refinement to Chinese contemporary poetry of early 21st century.
