In the late 1940 s,Yuan Kejia put forward the theoretical system of "Modernization of New Poetry",and summarized the new aesthetic principles of poetry as "a synthesis tradition of reality, symbolism and metaphysics".But because in that type of phrase,"reality","symbolism" and "metaphysics" concept in the theory of poetry meaning of each part is very complex, and Yuan appreciation, not carefully explained the connotation of the concept of but simply interpreted as "reality is shown in the close grasp of the current world of life, the symbolism is shown in implication, and the metaphysics is shown in the strong combination of sensitive thinking, feelings, will and wit from time to time".This interpretation is not only different from the traditional definition of new poetry, but also from the poetic claims mentioned in other articles. In order to solve this problem, this paper tries to analyze Yuan Kejia’s poetic propositions of "reality","symbolism" and "metaphysics",and analyzes the exact meanings of these concepts represented in Yuan Kejia’s poetic theory,so as to rediscover the specific connotation of his propositions of "a synthesis tradition of reality, symbolism and metaphysics".This paper is divided into four chapters, which respectively investigate the poetic viewpoints of "reality","symbolism" and "metaphysics" contained in Yuan Kejia’s poetic theory in 1940 s,and in the last chapter, investigate the meaning of "synthesis" in Yuan Kejia’s poetic theory. Therefore,it is concluded that in Yuan Kejia’s synthesis tradition of reality, symbol and metaphysics,"reality, symbol and metaphysics" represent three schools of poetry, instead of three simple viewpoints of poetry.Such a view may be helpful to rediscover the connotation of Yuan Kejia’s poetic theory and understand its theoretical gist. |
