Narrative Of The Wandering And The Experience Of Modernity In The New Period Of China

Reviewing drift as the core of modernity characteristic, the paper divided the wandering into two levels:one invisible level of body mobile, We try to reduce the second level of drift by analyses the first level, and answer one problem:what experience we have felt to human original existence of time, and to gender which is one core and constructed existence of human being when we are on the unsteady sailing ship called modernity. In view of Chinese’s drift occurs in late modernity period, experience of wandering is of modernity.The article focused on the period since1978. The paper used life experience research which based on the methodology of the Phenomenology. We choose flexibly those biographical data:literature, field survey, sociological depth interview, reportage, Television drama.Firstly, we analyzed the space experience. One is the survival experience from ground angle. Even though the space was extend of body, people felt pressure physically; or experience of being in somewhere false which established opposition between the subject and money; or experience small space in the soul. People have a sense of rootless in city. To someone, City have a lot of meaningless space, as a result, anyone could build a whole relationship with urban city. What’s more, the household registration system in China has strengthened the rootless sense.The space division into domestic and foreign of Chinese culture is one deep cause of rootless experience. The third resource of rootless is prisoner dilemma. People struggled against to the space experience. Firstly, the body was developed to the last but the most important Self-shelter. Each Group constructs their territories of me-group and owns some relative domestic space under city complexity’s surroundings and pressures. Last, people come back home in order to regain the experience of being rooted to somewhere, holding the hope of hometown could be recognition time and time again. But they found no hometown because it has changed in modernity. They feel they are rootless thoroughly. The common time experience did not have a certain direction any more since the1978.1ife have been turned into fragments of tool. We mainly focus on two kinds of time experience:training and tooling abandon. The two feeling of time, losing the point of returning home and being forced to be empty, is content of the sense from generations to generations.The last step was the experience of floating gender. Gender means hometown to each of intimacy couples. Modern sex forms a mobile picture and meaning of gender collapses. Gender research mainly focuses on the female in the new period. Nowadays multi-patterns of gender exist in meantime, practice and significance of gender has changed:gender are facing multiple objects, intimacy relationship full of uncertainty, female are individualized increasable and pursue of their own lives, the male feel crisis of gender identity and gender anxiety.whereas the fact that there are different gender patterns and the new and old factors play roles in our country, the significance of gender as hometown can’t be simply attributed to the image of ’mother’. Different gender patterns produces different home significance, people have different experience of gender.
