Also, structuring concept of six-meridian syndrome differentiation in Treatise on Febrile Diseases was compared with Six-ridge structuring in the Book of Changes was proposed, as well as similar analogy between symptom differentiation and thinking, eight principal syndrome differentiation and Yin-Yang unity and opposites in the two books respectively, with specific reference to philosophic ideas of accidens, and application of eight principal syndrome differentiation and Yin-Yang unity and opposites. The fourth chapter explored the relevance between treatment principle in the former book and thought of supreme harmony in the latter book, with special argument about eight methods in Treatise on Febrile Diseases, importance of dynamic equilibrium and methods changing in terms of syndromes particularly, and ideas of neutralization and harmony in the Book of Changes, leading to relation between dynamic equilibrium and Shizhong in the latter book, and discussion regarding only by Yin-Yang balance can one cure the root of disease. The fifth chapter compared characters of Treatise on Febrile Diseases including differentiation, change, flexibility, strictness and briefness, with Sanyi, Bianyi, Buyi and Yijian in the Book of Changes,This paper studied Treatise on Febrile Diseases from connections between medicine and the Book of Changes and found some important discoveries regarding mutual rules in both books such as circularity, extremes meet, proximity, unity and opposites, and came to the conclusion that the idea of connecting medicine with the Book of Changes has certain mutual operability at thought and dialectical philosophy levels, especially in terms of holism, Yin-Yang changes, conception of nature, which will benefit future study of Treatise on Febrile Diseases. The Book of Changes is not about medicine. It cannot be used as direct guide for disease treatment, but for medical thinking, which can bring about innovative thinking to Treatise on Febrile Diseases, particularly for the ideas of analogical thinking, organic relation and advancing with the times, and can inspire future research of the book as well and thus more innovations are expected to Treatise on Febrile Diseases.
