The Research Of Revealing The Mechanism Of Ying-Wei Regulation Through Guasha Method By The Use Of Literature And The Laser Speckle Imaging

Purpose:Although the method of Guasha is popularly known among people as Chinese medical treatment and the way of keeping health, and a number of academic papers on the topic have been increasingly published in recent years, there are rarely papers focusing thoroughly on the entire pathological cause, mechanism, and process of Sha and the functionality and mechanism of Guasha. This paper aims to probe into the pathological cause, mechanism, and process of Sha and the internal relation between Sha and Chinese medical diagnosis, to understand the meaning of Sha from the appearance of the blood circulation on the surface of the body, and to investigate the regular pattern of blood circulation when Guasha is applied, thus it will reveal that the method of Guasha can regulate the inner mechanism of Yingwei, and provide a new way of the treatment of Guasha and reliable experimental data for studies.Methods:This paper adopts two main methods on literature research and experimental research.1. Literature research:basic understanding on the concept and meaning of Sha and method of Guasha, investigating on the pathological mechanism of Sha and the disorder of Yingwei, investigation on pathology of Sha and arteries and vein, investigating on diagnostics of Sha and symptoms.2. Experimental research:Use technology on laser scattered speckles of blood flow forming photo. Monitor the flow of blood on the surface of body as Guasha is applied. Monitor the diagnostics quantity of the blood flow on the area of back or neck appearing the "form of Sha" after Guasha on120persons. Analyze the spacial relation between the distribution of blood flow on the surface of body and the "form of Sha", and observe the changes of the distribution of blood flow after5min,10min,15min. During the following second and third treatment the same method of Guasha as the first is used, and continue to monitor the blood flow of PSI according to the original planed principle of the experiment.Results:1.The method of Guasha is a kind of excellent treatment for hundreds of diseases including internal medicine, surgery, women and children, and all branches of medical treatments.2. Fuxie is a principal cause for the symptom of Sha.3. Yingwei disorder is the basis of pathological mechanism of all kinds of surgical and internal diseases.4. The pathological change of arteries and vein or micro circulation is the foundation of the pathology of Sha.5. When Guasha was applied to the healthy persons, PSI has shown the obvious increase of the quantity of blood flow on the texture of body surface in the area of Guasha (and the decrease of the quantity of blood flow was observed after5to15mins).6. When Guasha was applied to semi-healthy persons, PSI has shown greater quantity of blood flow in the area of non-Sha and lesser quantity of blood flow in the area of Sha, that is to say, after Guasha it shows different quantity of blood flow in different area. A pattern is:area of non-Sha greater than area of light Sha greater than area of heavy Sha.7. After several treatments of Guasha on semi-healthy persons, there is decreasing difference of quantity of blood flow between the area of Sha and the area of non-Sha.8. After Guasha on the semi-healthy persons, the ratio of the quantity of blood flow between Sha area and non-sha area tends toward one as time increases (5,10,15mins), and the slope decreases.(Sha area decreases slower than non-Sha area).9. Some patients after Guasha the shape of the form of Sha appears as the spread of main and collateral channels, possibly there is dialectical relation with main and collateral channels in Chinese medicine.Conclusion:1. Skin is an important area incubating Fuxie. Fuxie as a cause for disease disturbs the internal and external function of Yingwei in the body, damages arteries and veins or micro circulation, causes disorder on the function of physiology, becomes one of the principal causes of Sha symptom.2. The form of Sha produced by Guasha and the pathological information of diagnosis on the positive reactants may be used as important reference for clinical diagnosis. The internal relation between the systematic study of the form of Sha and all kinds of positive reactants and different diseases may add new content to Chinese medicine diagnostics-Sha diagnosis.3. There is difference of the blood flow in different area at the same patient, that is to say, after Guasha, there is different quantity of blood flow in different area within the area where Guasha is applied, its pattern is:non-sha area bigger than light sha area bigger than heavy area.4. It shows certain changing pattern between the quantity of blood flow and time after Guasha. When Guasha is done to semi-healthy persons, the ratio of the quantity of blood flow between Sha area and non-sha area tends toward one as time increases (5,10,15mins), and the slope decreases.5. The method of Guasha has obvious improved effect on blood flow of micro circulation under skin. Through consecutive observing the quantity of blood flow before and after Guasha at the same patient, it is found that the difference of the quantity of blood flow between Sha area and non-sha area constantly decreases after several Guasha. It shows that the quantity of pathological changing tissue becomes toward normal tissue as the treatments of Guasha increases. Therefore, it is convincingly proved that the method of Guasha can improve blood circulation and has effect on regulating Yingwei.
