ObjectiveThis paper intends to evaluate selected cases of insomnia clinical efficacy through randomized controlled clinical study, the researchers selected balance acupuncture points in the treatment of this disease, the way the operation, treatment time, etc., in order to clear the balance acupuncture treatment of insomnia the clinical efficacy. The clinical study to explore a safe, easy to operate, the exact effect of the treatment of insomnia has important practical significance.MethodsThe April 2013-2014 in December, Chinese medicine clinics in Taiwan, in line with the patient’s diagnostic criteria for insomnia, collected 105 cases, including 35 cases as a balance acupuncture group,35 cases as ordinary acupuncture group,35 cases as behavioral therapy groups.Referring to the Chinese Medical Association to develop the spirit of science clubs on Insomnia "Classification and diagnostic criteria for mental illness Chinese Psychiatric Society," TCM diagnostic criteria "Chinese disease diagnostic efficacy standards," according to (the People’s Republic of China pharmaceutical industry standard ZY/T00) diagnosis. A randomized controlled trial method, Huaxi Medical University Pems 3.1 software generates random numbers, the insomnia subjects in a 1:1:1 ratio were randomly assigned to balance acupuncture group, ordinary acupuncture group behavior therapy group, every ill were 35 cases. Terms of blinding, because of the particularity of acupuncture research, this study can not be achieved double-blind. In addition to the information and data (Evaluation) of sub-blinded evaluation of the implementation of the researchers, operators, three separate census takers. Balance point acupuncture group acupoints for insomnia, headache points; ordinary acupuncture group acupoints for Zhaohai, Shen pulse, the door of God, Yintang Sishencong, sleep; behavioral therapy group mainly sleep hygiene education, sleep restraint, stimulus control training, mental relaxation training. Clinical indicators Insomnia "TCM syndrome score," Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, World Health Organization Quality of Life BREF (WHOQOL-BREF), EEG and related events potentials (awake EEG, P3 detection).ResultsBefore treatment, acupuncture group balance, ordinary acupuncture group behavior therapy group had no significant difference test (P> 0.05) by the chi-square distribution in gender, age composition, duration distribution, occupation, past medical history, the instructions between the three groups comparable.① compare the efficacy of insomniaDifferences between the three groups was statistically significant effect (P<0.05), which accounted for the balance acupuncture group were cured, the number of 22.86%, accounting for 34.28% effective in number, accounting for 28.57% the number of valid and invalid number of 14.29%, the total effective rate was 85.71%; The number of ordinary acupuncture group were cured (28.57%) were cured, the number of accounts for 22.86%, accounting for 37.14% the number of valid and invalid account number 11.43%, the total effective rate was 88.57%. Tip:Three different treatment for insomnia, clinical data concluded that acupuncture therapy and general equilibrium effects similar to acupuncture treatment, both treatments were superior to behavioral therapy.② the TCM symptoms of insomnia scoresBalance acupuncture group, the post-treatment compared to before treatment of insomnia scores and significantly reduced, there was statistically significant (P<0.01); malaise, fatigue, dizziness symptoms have improved than before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the rest of the clinical symptoms before treatment was not significantly different (P> 0.05). General aspects of acupuncture, insomnia, dizziness syndromes were relieved than before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01); mood, malaise, fatigue, stool there is a certain degree of improvement (P<0.05), the rest of TCM symptoms no significant (P>0.05). Behavior therapy group, in addition to insomnia, compared to reduce the symptoms of malaise, fatigue scores before treatment (P<0.05), but no significant improvement in other clinical symptoms (P>0.05).③ Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scoresa. Compare the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality ScaleBalance acupuncture group, compared significantly improved after treatment before sleep quality, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disturbances and daytime dysfunction cases and treatment of cases, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); sleep time was significantly improved needle the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01); hypnotic score before treatment was not significantly different (P>0.05). Ordinary acupuncture, the sleep time, sleep efficiency, daytime dysfunction significantly ease the situation than before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01); sleep quality, sleep duration, sleep disturbances situation has improved (P<0.05). Behavior therapy group, the sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep disorders, there are significant differences (P case before daytime dysfunction treatment<0.05), the rest of the improvement was not obvious (P> 0.05).b. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index total scoresHave more balance acupuncture group before and after treatment Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores statistically significant difference (P<0.01); after ordinary acupuncture group insomnia patients treated Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores decreased, the difference was statistically significant but also significant (P<0.01); behavioral therapy group compared with pre-treatment scores were statistically significant reduction (P<0.05). Comparisons between the two groups after treatment, balance acupuncture group, acupuncture group of ordinary Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores than behavior therapy group was statistically significant (P<0.05) between the two groups; and balanced group with ordinary needle acupuncture group no significant difference (P> 0.05). The results showed that the balance of acupuncture, acupuncture for improving the general quality of sleep in patients with insomnia and reduce time to fall asleep and improve sleep efficiency, sleep disorders and other effects of mitigation is better than behavioral therapy, acupuncture and balanced difference between ordinary acupuncture treatment obvious.④ quality of life scoresBalance acupuncture group, acupuncture group of ordinary insomnia patients WHOQOL-BREF quality of life scores than before treatment scores have improved, the group difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); pre-treatment scores and behavioral therapy group WHOQOL-BREF quality of life score no significant difference (P> 0.05). Comparisons between the two groups after treatment, the quality of life of ordinary acupuncture group score higher than behavior therapy group was statistically significant (P<0.05) between the two groups; and balanced group with ordinary needle acupuncture group behavior therapy group In terms of quality of life scores, no significant difference (P> 0.05). The results showed improvement in the quality of life in patients with insomnia, the efficacy of acupuncture were significantly higher than the general behavior therapy.⑤ brain function related to compare test resultsEEG abnormalities rate after treatment for the three groups were 14.29%, 11.43%,25.71%. The chi-square experience, P<0.05, significant difference. In contrast to EEG abnormalities rate, the balance acupuncture group, EEG abnormality rate of ordinary acupuncture group was significantly lower than the behavior therapy group. After treatment, the rate of abnormal auditory event-related potentials for the three groups were 17.14%,14.29%,17.14%. The chi-square experience, P> 0.05, the difference was not statistically significant. In contrast aspects of auditory event-related potentials abnormal rate, the difference in efficacy between the three groups is not obvious.Auditory potential P3 amplitude (μv), the latency (ms) comparisons, either comparing the group, or between groups, balance acupuncture group, ordinary acupuncture group behavior therapy group was not significantly different, P> 0.05.ConclusionBalance needle has TCM’s "overall concept" and "bio-holographic" features of Western medicine, by stimulating the body to a specific acupuncture points to stimulate the mobilization of the patient’s own defense system to fight disease. From the above results of clinical studies found that acupuncture Heng, general acupuncture therapy, behavior therapy can improve fatigue in patients with insomnia, fatigue, dizziness and other symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, improve sleep quality of patients and reduce sleep time, improve the quality of life of patients with insomnia, and to some extent change their EEG abnormalities. Balance acupuncture, acupuncture for improving the general quality of sleep in patients with insomnia, relieve sleep disorders, to improve the quality of life of patients with insomnia, regulate aspects of patient wakefulness EEG abnormalities, such as the efficacy of its better than behavioral therapy. In contrast to the overall effect, the balance of acupuncture with conventional acupuncture treatment is similar, these two treatments were superior to behavioral therapy. Although acupuncture balance and common acupuncture treatment was not significantly different between the two, but the balance of curative effect of acupuncture treatment of insomnia, compared with conventional acupuncture, acupuncture acupoints less balanced, and has a simple, patient pain, no side effects, etc. characteristics, suitable clinic.
