Effect On Visceral Fat By Electro-acupuncture Combined With Laser Treatment In Simple Obesity

BackgroundObesity is a serious, wide-spread, stubborn problem. Obesity is a significant risk factor for morbidity and mortality associated with a greater risk for medical conditions including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, respiratory, osteoarthritis, coronary artery disease, estrogen hormone, gallstone, liver, kidney, depression, pancreatitis, hyperlipidemia and renal etc. Factors of obesity are poor nutrition which is diet and energy metabolism disorder caused by particular biochemical factor, and among such as fast foods, drugs, food structure, lifestyle, and heredity. In recent years, treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine has shown significant results in obesity. This method is nature medicine, non-toxic medicine and has no side-effect in patients. Patients have widely accepted both method of treatment and mechanism of acupuncture in simple obesity, within China and in the world, and it is recognized by WHO. As a consequence, it is important to take up this issue for further achievement to research.PurposeThe purpose of this research is to further expound the correlation of the effect of Simple Obesity with patient’s reducing weight method by electro-acupuncture combined with laser, and also further analysis of patient’s visceral fat quantity for finding out superior treatment program.MethodsSixty simple obesity patients were randomly divided into two groups, thirty patients electro-acupuncture combined with laser group and electro-acupuncture alone group respectively. After certain treatment, each patient were evaluated and obtained the final obesity index, such as body weight, waist, hip and thigh circumference, body mass index (BMI), body fat ratio and visceral fat (VFA). Furthermore, those indexes were observed by software SPSS13.0in order to be analysis statistically.ResultsThe result shows after treatment that the comparison of the patient’s effectiveness in the two groups between electro-acupuncture combined with laser and electro-acupuncture alone. Total efficiency rate was90.0%respectively. It was shown that treatment by both electro-acupuncture combined with laser and electro-acupuncture alone were effective for treatment of simple obesity. It was shown by T test for analyzing for patient’s data between two groups of body fat ratio and BMI were P<0.05, and waist circumference and VFA were P<0.01. The effect on hip and thigh circumference, BMI and effective rate of the two groups was not statistically significant. The results showed that electro-acupuncture combined with laser treatment gave greater result than electro-acupuncture alone regarding degrading of visceral fat.ConclusionsBoth combined electro-acupuncture with laser and electro-acupuncture alone was effective treatment of simple obesity. Electro-acupuncture combined with laser made better changes to the patient’s waist circumference, FAT, BMI and VFA than electro-acupuncture alone method.
