The synchronous belts is widely used in Timing drive system, with the development of engine miniaturization and lightweight, higher requirements are put forward on the vibration, noise and service life of auto timing belt. According to the requirement of vibration and noise reduction, the mechanism of vibration and noise has been studied through theoretical analysis, simulation and test, and the law of vibration and noise is studied based on the two pulleys non-loaded test device, this paper mainly includes the following aspects:The influence of meshing impact, stiffness activation and external excitation on vibration is suited based on the present situation of the vibration and noise research at home and abroad. The model of meshing impact, mesh stiffness and the torque of crankshaft and camshaft are established. The calculation and test methods of elastic modulus of timing belt are studied through the calculation of volume of every layer in composite material. A two pulley drive system simulation model of ZA belt is built based on flexible multibody dynamics. The influence law of tooth dimension on the load distribution and the driving pulley speed and tension on the transverse vibration. The dynamic equation of the timing belt transverse vibration is established based on the string model, and analyse the natural frequency and vibration mode. The deviation is small between test result and theoretical calculation and simulation result.The mechanism is analyzed of synchronous belt transmission noise, The simulation method is proposed based on flexible multibody dynamics, harmonic response analysis and Acoustic BEM, the noise of ZA timing belt is analyzed through simulation, the distribution is obtained of sound pressure. The influence of speed, tension, width and length on the vibration and noise are analyzed through the two pulley non-load belt transmission test. The test result verified the reliability of the noise simulation method, provide the theoretical basis and experimental method for the vibration and noise reduction of timing driving system. Has theoretical and application value.
