A Research On The Basic Theory And Method Of Passive Building

Greenhouse gas leads to global warming. It has been a consensus to have a low carbon life. Passive building become is one of the hot spot among the different social sectors after green building, low carbon buildings and sustainable building. Passive building’s acceptance in Europe has been largely based on its simple structure and targeted focus on significant reduction in energy consumption. In the last 20 years, a large number of studies have been performed on passive building for its potential broad applications. As passive building was originally developed for German’s moderate climate, designers from other countries have been skeptical of Passive building’s application in more extreme climate. Chinese scholars have been taken a great deal of research on it, but these analyses mostly limit to passive design strategies and lack in systematic research. Several great basic theoretical questions of passive building haven’t got satisfactory settlement and haven’t established the theoretical framework. This project research has certain theory significance and practical value.In this paper, the anthor focuses on the passive building design basis, design goals, design process and method, and the evaluation of passive building from this integrated perspective. The study was to make architect establish the concept of design with climate, use the passive techlonogise which are heat preservation and heat insulation, heat storage heat, natural ventilation, passive heating, to improve the building comfort, and achieve the goal of building energy saving.In this paper, the innovation points are as follows:Firstly, the author attempt to set up a theoretical framework of passive building design, including the connotation of passive building, design concept, design principles and objectives, design process and methods, basic parameters for design and so on. The main purposes of these studies are to seek new construction way adapting to new climatic conditions and for architects to provide a set of feasible scientific method of passive building design guidance.Secondly, this paper answered the question that is “what is passive building” in view of the concept of the passive building is not clear by dialectical logic research method: The author gived the difination of the passive building and clarified the concept of passive building and some similar concepts, and summarized its essential characters for energy efficiency, adaptability and regionality. And then, the author analyzed the formation of passive building, and made theoretical generalization on the passive building.Thirdly, in view of the lack of passive building design standards for practice and policy of the passive building, the author answered the question that is "how to evaluate a passive building". The microscopic evaluation model of passive building design has been gradually established with the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and fuzzy comprehensive judgment method; Based on the input-output method, this paper preliminary established the macroscopic evaluation model of the passive building, and the impact on macro economy and the environment can be measured with this model.
