Serving as an important reference of natural and geographical conditions for highway engineering, the natural regionalization for highway should provide more specific, comprehensive and accurate geographical information and engineering design parameters for survey, design and construction quota of highway engineering. The current "highway natural zoning standards of China(JTJ003-86)"( "86 standards") research work mainly concentrated in the 70’s of the last century. By the constraints of theory, tools and basic data at that time, the regionalization indices relied too much on experience and qualitative analysis method, this makes part description of "86 standards" appears deviation. The in-depth research of the highway natural regionalization method, quantitative analysis theory and method of regionalization indices is benefit to express the differentiation rules of natural and geographical conditions of highway engineering. It is also advantageous to rational use of expert experience and qualitative analysis, and to improve the practicability and accuracy division of the natural regionalization for highway.This thesis focuses on the key technology of natural zoning for highway. Extensive collection of relevant information, including the literature of general natural regionalization and the highway natural regionalization, related data of natural geographic elements, the relevant maps, current results of the natural zoning for highway and related standards. Carry on the basic theory of data mining research, such as cloud model and data field. Analyzed the current domestic and foreign research achievements of natural zoning and zoning for highway. Studied problems and challenges of natural zoning for highway in new period. Combining with the modern highway engineering technology, information technology and data mining technology, explored scientific methods of natural zoning for highway. Established the system of natural zoning for highway method suitable for China’s highway development demand. Based on the data field and cloud model and spatial data mining theory, explored the scientific and practical analysis method for index of natural zoning for highway. Based on the above research, put forward and clarified the comprehensive natural regionalization scheme for highway in China to verify the theory and method of highway natural regionalization proposed in this paper.
