Thermal stability is a key technology problem of road-building in permafrost area. Theinterior heat accumulates and the heat equilibrium of original subgrad is destroyed for globalclimate becoming warmer and reconstruction of highway in the permafrost area. Thenmechanical performance of permafrost reduces, which leads to thawing settlement.Permafrost in Northeast China lays in the south of Eurasia permafrost, due to global warmingintensifies and human activities on the permafrost disturbance in recent years, the permafrostin Northeast China degradated, increasing the occurrence of frozen soil regions roads disease.This paper relies on the project of Yichun-Beian east sect of QianNen highway, which isthe ‘road second line’in Heilongjiang Province.The subgrade disease and cause in permafrostwas investigated and analysed systematically, focusing on the investigation of subgradetreatment measures in Heilongjiang Province. According to the meteorological data, the southside of permafrost in northeast China was redefined. The highway natural division ofpermafrost regions in northeast China was researched, and highway three level naturaldivisions were carried out. Combined with result of geophysical prospecting and boreholesurveying along the Qin-Nen highway based on climate, geological, hydrological conditions,a detailed analysis on the distribution of permafrost of Qin-Nen highway has been made.Combined with distribution of permafrost, gravel pile and comprehensive treatment measuresof Qin-Nen highway were proposed based on the subgrade treament measures and it’sadvantages in permafrost area of Heilongjiang Province. The two measures were verificatedby the test road. By the observation of the test road subgrade settlement deformation afterconstruction, the permafrost subgrade settlement prediction model has been put forward. Theeffects to Qin-Nen highway test roads were evaluated. So it will provide guideance forsubgrade construction of highway in permafrost regions.
