Constitution Patterns’ Research Of The Campus Space Based On The Culturing Of University Spirit

Confronted with various difficulties and challenges in higher education, we have toreflect on all sorts of problems related to education. As a social institution and culturalorganization, university relies on something surpassing but also original, i.e. educationthat depends on spiritual world. It is an important issue to think over as to better cater toand enhance the spirit of university through the adjustment of external environment ofuniversity campus and improve students’ qualities and promote the connotation of theuniversity on this basis during the creation of spatial form of university campus.Research methods like multidisciplinary comprehensive research method, literaturestudy method, investigation method, statistical analysis method, comparative analysismethod and case study method have been employed in this paper. Three innovationhighlights are presented in this paper, i.e. innovation of research perspective, innovationof research ideas and innovation of research contents. The main contents of the paperare shown as follows:Chapter1: Introduction. After the introduction to the background of the paper, thischapter has analyzed the research purpose and meaning; the research target of the paperhas been defined on this basis and literature review is conducted on relevant researchesat home and abroad; later, the research contents, methods, framework and innovationhighlights of the paper have been elaborated.Chapter2: Analysis on Development and Interaction of University Spirit andCampus Space. Based on the analysis of the development process of university spirit,this chapter has discussed the connotation of university spirit, dialectically analyzed the relations between university spirit and university concept and ideal and clarified theimportant role of university spirit in the development of university. The chapter furtheranalyzes the development process of spatial forms of Western campuses and Chinesecampuses in four stages and six stages respectively. The paper has then analyzed therelationship between university spirit and campus space.Chapter3: Analysis of University Campus Space form MultidisciplinaryPerspective. This chapter begins with the university spirit and the campus space of thequestionnaire, the questionnaire data and the results were analyzed. On this basis, fromsocial psychology, environmental psychology, place spirit and the cultivation ofuniversity spirit is closely related to the subject of different disciplinary perspectives,analyses requirements of the university campus space form.Chapter4: Resolution of University Campus Space Based on University Spirit. Theimmaterial factors influencing the university campus space have been analyzed fromthree perspectives, including macro, medium and micro. The analysis results indicatethe campus planning has solved the issue of campus pattern in a macro sense, the issueof texture in a medium sense, and the issue of quality in a micro sense to some extent.The three aspects function from different levels, thus influencing the constitution ofcampus space form. As for the relations among the three aspects, macro and mediumlevels are the preconditions and basis of micro level while the micro level is thematerialization, refining and furtherance of macro and medium levels.Chapter5: Analysis on Campus Space Form Based on Cultivation of UniversitySpirit. Extending the analysis basis of Chapter3, this chapter mainly analyzes theconstitution of university campus space of China from a micro perspective. It can begenerally categorized into three classes: campus external space, campus overallenvironment and relations among various elements of campus space. The campusexternal space includes three parts, i.e., open space, streamline space and spiritual space.This chapter has further analyzed the current situation of the university campus spaceforms of China and summarizes the existing problems. Then the paper studies the caseof College of Architecture, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology and laborsthe campus planning scheme of this campus from macro, medium and microperspectives, thus providing realistic basis for the theory of this paper.Chapter6: Campus Space Creation Pattern Language Based on Cultivation ofUniversity Sprit. As a core and foothold of the paper, this chapter has analyzed theestablishment principles of campus space creation pattern language based on cultivation of university spirit first. Then, the paper has summarized the campus space creationpattern languages based on cultivation of university spirit, including8in macro level,4in medium level and14in micro level.
