The number of cars and highway construction mileage has increased, which directly results in the substantial increase in the number of traffic accidents. Accidents caused by collision or scratch between car and the guardrail or car running out of the road lead to serious loss of life. Therefore, improving the existing structures in the form of guardrails and highway guardrail terminal, highway traffic safety research and analysis work facility has very important theoretical and practical value.First, this paper, based on the evaluation criteria guardrail research status and abroad, combined with the actual needs of road protection facilities, research and analysis and concluded that the conditions for China’s road guardrail terminal research, research methods, technical routes and standard evaluation system.Secondly, it analyzed the car with the finite element method guardrail collision course about the basic principles and algorithms for solving equations from finite element, element algorithm, stress correction, the contact time of the collision integral interface and other aspects to consider, and choose the appropriate control of the actual situation equations and arithmetic unit, and put forward the concept of new guardrail terminal, pointed out the advantages of traditional guardrails, and provides a theoretical basis for the following vehicle and guardrail terminal collision energy attenuation device performance study.From the status of highway traffic safety actual needs and innovative perspective, researches and develops a new halves highway guardrail terminal terminal and the cylinder head structure of the collision energy attenuation device and its computer simulation and dynamics research and analysis.
