Mechanism Of Urban Transportation System Evolution Process Is Studied

Through analyzing the interaction between urban development and urban transportation, the report studies the evolution mechanism of urban transportation system. The main research contents in the report include:development courses of urban and urban transportation, interaction of urban spatial structure and urban transportation, theoretic analysis of the interaction, case studies. The finds show that the interaction between urban development and urban transportation is mainly a manifestation of its impacts on urban spatial structure, and that traffic accessibility is the key element that plays an important role in the interaction. And then, the report modifies Thunen model for location theory and Brueckner model for urban economics by introducing traffic accessibility. Using the modified models, the report analyzes the interaction mechanism in theory. Finally, four cities are given as examples.
