In this thesis, the author configured a regional logistics model based on the systems theory, pointed out that regional logistical system is a logistics product producing system in a specific geographic region, it is a sub-system of the regional economic system. Regional logistical system has three major components, namely logistics infrastructure components, logistics enterprise components, logistics policy components.Followingly, the author defined logistics product as the output of the logistical system and it provides services to the production and distribution of physical products. From product value perspective, logistics products, by creating time utility and place utility, forms part of the value of finished products. From this sense, logistics products can be treated as semi-product of the final product. From product cost perspective, logistics product can be treated as transactional costs of the cost of the final products, it includes transportation cost and institutional cost. After this, the author developed two theoretical models to analyze the relationship between regional logistical system and regional economic system and the economic effect regional logistical system would have on the dynamic spatial evolution of the economic system under a multiple region condition.Based on the results of the single region analysis, economical explanation was given and the author conducted quantitative testing of the results by using the SAS model and proved the results. And the author further explained the mechanism of how regional logistical system may impact the regional economic system which can be defined as positive effects and negative effects.Base on the results of the multi-region analysis, the author also gave economical explanation and further analyzed the effect of the regional logistical system under three long-term stable equilibrium status that may exist between two regions: symmetric equilibrium, partial convergent equilibrium and core-peripheral equilibrium. In the part of positive research, the thesis chose the Yangze River Delta area and the North-eastern Asia region as the two objects. For the Yangze River Delta area, the author pointed out that breaking down administrative barriers and promoting regional economic integration is a necessity. The author suggested that to form a regional logistics system would serve as a good leading strategy for the efficient and sustainable development of the region and detailed solutions were put forward in the areas of organizational arrangement, system development and construction of the regional logistical system. For the North-eastern Asia region, the author pointed out that there has been very good foundation for the cooperation and this cooperation would have a bright future. But at the same time, there also exist an important bottleneck which is the overly high logistical costs. The author suggested that to form a regional logistics system would also serve as a good leading strategy for this region. And it should be implemented by stages: First to form a unified logistical market in the region; secondly to form the logistical system in the region. Details of how to execute this strategy and the future directions were also covered. This thesis is composed of five chapters. The first chapter is introduction. It firstly introduced changing tread and features in the world at macro, micro and intermediate levels. The development of the logistics industry and its features. Then the research topic and the purpose of the research were introduced together with difficulties in such research. Following was the research plan and theoretical basis of the research. And the main research process and findings, structural arrangement of the thesis and the last part talked about areas of innovation of the thesis and areas that need to be further improved in the future. The second chapter is related theories and literature review. It first discussed economic theories that are relevant to the research topic and the latest development of contemporary regional economic theories. It also discussed the economic theories and theoretical analysis models that are used as the basis of the research of this thesis including the D-S Model, CP Model, LS Model, etc. This chapter also included review and evaluation of literatures that are relevant to the research topic. The third chapter is the development of the regional logistical system theoretical analysis model and strategies that should be adopted. First, the theoretical analysis model was established and definition of logistics product, regional logistical system formed, value and cost components of the logistics product analysed; Components, function, types, evaluation criteria of regional logistical system explained. After that, regional logistical system strategies discussed including principle for planning and content of the strategy. The fourth chapter was the analysis of the effect of the logistical system in a single region. In this chapter, the theoretical analysis model was established and through mathematical calculation, the conclusion was reached. The author also gave economical analysis of the conclusion. And the author conducted quantitative testing of the results by using the SAS model using both Chinese data and American data and proved the results. Based on this, the author further summarized the mechanism of how regional logistical system and the regional economic system may impact on each other which can be defined as positive effects and negative effects. The fifth chapter was the analysis of the effect of the logistical system in a multi-region environment. The theoretical analysis model of two regions was developed and mathematical deduction run, finally the result reached. Based on the analysis result, by using of the results of the analysis of the dynamic path of economical evolution of the CP Model and the LS Model, the author analysed the effect of the regional logistical system under three long-term stable equilibrium status that may exist between two regions and pointed out logistical system strategies to be adopted. Based on the characteristics of the economy of the region and the spatial evolutionary trend of the region, it pointed out the necessity and urgency in forming the regional logistics system, methods to form it and problems that must be solved. Based on the regional feature and progress of the regional cooperation and the latest development of logistics in the North-eastern Asian region, suggestions on the development of the logistical system in this region were put forward.
