| With more and more intensive competitions in the consuming market, sustaining innovation product is introduced to meet the customer needs. The time gap of each product generation becomes smaller, and shelf price falls down sharply after the product introduction period. The competition of supply chain turns into speed-based ones. To speed up R&D, new product is integrated by the continuing improving innovative (fashion) and fixed functional models, until the functional module is obsolete. On the other hand, companies push excessive product into consumer market, and there will be lots of unsalable goods at the downstream of the supply chain.Companies have to handle the unsalable goods effectively. The features of high-salvage perishable product are: the shelf price of goods is quickly fade away and highly perishable; the use value does not sharp decline over time, while maintaining a certain reuse value, which can be remanufactured into a new one. The typical high-salvage perishable products are consumer electronics products and high-tech products.Closed-loop supply chain management based on re-manufacture is the better solution of the conflict between the shorter shelf life and the longer using life. It's been proved that the closed-loop supply chain management is not only a better way to deal with environmental protection and sustainable development problems, but also a good method that reduce the cost and get the potential revenue by re-using resources at the end of product life cycle. Remanufacture can recover the product and core components to the same as or the better performance than the original ones. The dissertation studies the special class of goods—high-salvage perishable product. Based on closed-loop supply chain management and operations management principles, this dissertation studies the high-salvage perishable, and different levels decision-making problems of closed-loop supply chain management, which are: strategy (potential economic benefits and impact analysis), tactical (supply chain coordination contracts) and application level (closed-loop logistics network planning) problems. This study is mainly divided into seven chapters. The main contents of each chapter are as follows:Chapter 1, Introduction. This chapter introduces the research background, research significance, research framework and the structure of the dissertation.Chapter 2, Theoretical basis and literature review. Related research results is sorted out and evaluated in this chapter, based on the summary of the closed-loop supply chain-related theories, re-manufacturing-related studies, perishable goods and its closed-loop supply chain coordination, emergency and disruption management, and so on.Chapter 3, Closed-loop supply chain management(CLSM) of high-salvage perishable product. At first, Four aspects of high-salvage perishable product characteristics are analyzed, which are: product technology, manufacturing, market pricing strategy and sale. And then, the dissertation proposes the establishment of re-manufactured in the CLS based on the industry data and the literature research. Through the CLS and product time-sensitive matrix analysis, CLSM must be consistent with―quick response‖goals. The method of time-revenue analysis is established to maximize the value of closed-loop supply chain. After that, some design and control principles of CLSM are given, which are: based on QR CLS product design\supply chain structure\ time-efficient operational management and information collection.Chapter 4, Potential revenue and impact parameter analysis of high-salvage perishable product CLS. It's the strategic level decision-making problem, and has to take into account before CLS foundation. The chapter discusses the probability and condition of enterprise gets the positive potential revenue. Based on the characteristics of high-salvage perishable products, two main parameters - product sales rates and the re-processing speed - respectively from the forward and reverse supply chain system are chosen to research the impacts on the potential revenue. And after the analysis of other parameters (all kinds of cost factors, the design life and max remanufacture times of components), the research accesses to re-create the conditions in the enterprises under CLSM strategies and manage recommendations.Through established different potential benefit-cost function, the dissertation gets almost the same conclusion, which means the results are suitable in lots conditions. Conclusion shows that: if and only if the sum of components acquisition cost and re-manufactured cost is greater than the cost of reprocessing cost, there is positive revenue; higher sales rate of finished goods means it's not suitable for re-manufacturing; there is no need to speed up the reprocessing speed all the way ,there is a optimal speed for the max supply chain potential revenue; various types of CLS costs are not too high; the designed life of re-manufacturable component does not require too long, and is a appropriate ones; the motivations for customers return EOU products may take the initiative to bring the economic benefits of remanufacturing.Chapter 5, CLS coordination of high-salvage perishable product. The issues are tactical decision-making level ones. Due to the characteristics of high salvage value, the chapter studies in accordance with the period faced by two different market segments. Two different sales periods are: the import period with the higher price strategy and the maturity and recession period with the lower price strategy. The dissertation extends the traditional buy-back contract model. With the help of remain rate parameter, supply chain coordination contract models are set up in two different conditions: the one is under only allow to the full return at the end of PLC, and other is allow two opportunities of return products(after introduction period and after the turnover period).Besides the supply chain coordination contracts establishment conditions, there are some other conclusions. The optimal order quantity of decentralized closed-loop supply chain without the contract is less than the coordination ones. CLS wouldn't get coordinated until the core firm of supply chain resettles the profit between the upstream and downstream. When the customer needs obey uniform distribution, the contract is independent with the mean of demand, but depends on the length of the forecast range correlation; remain rate is determined by the opportunity revenues and cost of introduction and turnover period.Chapter 6, Recall management and logistics network planning of high-salvage perishable product. In this chapter, a special source of returns--recall products is studied, and it's an application research of dual goal of time and cost. Firstly, at the firm view point, based on the emergency and disruption management theory, product recall management theory and the strategic and tactical levels of management methods is developed. The dissertation also gives the theoretical framework model of strategic management of before-recall, during-recall and after-recall. After that, several recall cost parameters are analyzed by establishing time-cost functions to introduce the length of time. The dissertation sets the dual-objective mixed integer planning model, and uses heuristic algorithms to solve the problem. After numerical examples analysis by Matlab program, the chapter discusses the different parameters effect and the robustness of the network. The results showed that the model has a certain universal significance, various cost parameters does not affect the stability of the network location of the decision-making, and the greatest impact on the network structure is the product forward sales rate.Chapter 7, summary and outlook. The dissertation reviews and summarizes the results and content, and give follow-up research direction and prospect. This dissertation integrates the closed-loop supply chain management theory, perishable goods management theory, production and operations management theory, marketing theory, and emergency/disruption management research. Consideration of different levels of decision-making, do the qualitative and quantitative analysis related issues of high-salvage perishable closed-loop supply chain management.Dissertation has four aspects of the corresponding innovations, as follows:1. Summarize the characteristics of high salvage perishable products and give the management framework. Propose a new category of study object, settle SCM policy framework, develops CLSM theory. Based on the related theory, give the characters of high-salvage perishable product in updating, market pricing, sales and distribution. Develop the CLS - product value matrix, presented high-salvage perishable goods need to set up rapid response, give the CLSM framework of the QR(quick response) model, and value chain analysis was made to get the appropriate management strategy for the further analysis. Finally, give same aspects of design principles.2. There few quantitative analysis of revenues analysis of closed-loop supply chain in the traditional literature. This dissertation using the recovery value of re-manufacturing parts as potential revenue, and analysis the economics of closed-loop supply chain. In accordance with the characteristics of a high salvage perishable products, two important parameters - the actual products sales rate and product / component re-processing speed, which are from the forward and reverse supply chain, are analyzed, and we get some recommendations. Through numerical analysis, the various supply chain cost parameters, recovery rate, the design of components can be re-manufacturing times are studied.3. The dissertation extends the traditional return contracts, and models the contract under one and two different period return opportunities. The opportunity refer to the two different returns stages of in product life-cycle stage (high-and low-cost imported maturity, customer demand and pricing strategies are not the same in the two periods). Through the introduction of remain rate parameters, respectively, the dissertation discusses the CLS coordination under the different opportunities, and gives same manage recommendation. Traditional literatures of the recall are focus on the policy side, and this dissertation is focus on the management side of recall. Research the closed-loop supply chain management recall strategies and give the framework model. Learn from emergency/disruption operations management, give the before-recall(perpareing), during-recall(evaluating and decision-making), after-recall(feedback and improvement) principles, and draw the recall strategic framework. After defining cost-time function, the dissertation models a dual objectives (minimize both time and cost) mixed integer programming model. Heuristic algorithm is designed to solve the planning problem. After the numerical analysis, a specific network planning and management conclusions are given, and the network stability with different parameters are discussed. |
