This paper refers to the theories of land economics, urban economics, economics, mathematics and management. Based on the analysis and understanding of the intensive use of urban land as well as the analysis of the intensive land-use in the land market overseas, the author makes a studying on the intensive use of land that affects the urban land market and land allocation efficiency, and analyzes the effects and contributions to economic growth as a result of the intensive use of urban land in the typical cities, which conducts and promotes the intensive use of urban land in our country.Firstly, given the present conditions of urban land-use in our country, the author puts award some economic theories related to intensive use, doing a research and having a discussion on urban land market affected by the intensive use of urban land, and analyzes the general equilibrium in the intensive land-use and the cause of lower efficiency in urban land allocation. Secondly, at the basis of analysis on the whole allocation efficiency of urban land-use in our country, the paper introduces some factors affecting the intensive use of urban land, and gets the factors proved by some typical cities companied with practical situation in the intensive use of urban land. A conclusion can be drawn that the intensive use of urban land in our country belongs to quantity pattern and per land is at the stage of decreasing returns. Thirdly, through analyzing the factors that affect urban land allocation efficiency and the intensive use of land, we focus on the economic development driven by urban land. It is accepted that there is a positive correlation between land-use efficiency and economic development. Therefore, the intensive land-use could transform the pattern of economic increasing, optimize industrial structures and coordinate economic development. At last, in terms of sustainable development, the author illustrates the strategy of the intensive use of urban land from the angle of management and policy comprehensively, promotes urban land market and makes a foundation for our urban economic development.
