China's Service Trade Competitiveness

The research of service trade competence of China is based on following backgrounds: the economics globalization, the booming of world-wide service economics and expanding trend of service trade, scissors gap between net goods exportation and service exportation of China being wider, continuous service trade deficit for more than ten years but with weakly theoretic research. This research on the competence from view of the service trade, build a framework to explain the realistically problem and guide for economics policy. The research on the service trade competence problem is not only about process and improving method of the international service trade competence, but also related to the comprehensive international competence of a country or area. Thus the research in this domain is very import for both theory and practice.The research including following contents: clarification on the concept of service trade competence; taking the service trade competence concept as logic starting point to set up a evaluation index system, method and model of service trade competence; instance verification on service trade competence of different countries; extensive analysis on the current status and existing problems of China service trade competence, and give corresponding proposals based on the result of empirical study.Through the empirical study on different countries, the main conclusion is: the distribution of intensity of productive elements was changed according to time being. The main part and most service department of current service trade are human capital and material capital intensive, but the main trend is that the human capital has more and more important affect on the service trade increase. On the other hand, besides the labors, material capital and human capital, there is another factor which has play an important role on the service trade competence but can not be measured, we called it "national or local specialized factor". Refer to the core competence theory of Mr. Michael E. Porter; we can draw a conclusion that only the mechanism of service trade competence is the core competence of the service trade, and from some points of view, integrating ability of "national or local specialized factor" is probably the launcher of service trade core competence. Concerning the current status of service trade competence of our country and the existing problems, the study result gives some proposals: besides the improvement on the forming condition and constructing elements, the key point is to consummate the mechanism of service trade competence, which can make the "national or local specialized factor" be able to integrate the other factors and functions better.
