The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the influence which the government conduct brings to the development route of China's auto industry, to reveal the effect of governmental shadow on the lack of autonomous brand and to analyze the effect mechanism.This thesis brings the research of the connection between the shadow of government and the development route of China's auto industry into historical course and scientific scope by hackling the academic headstream and evolvement of the relation between government and market, then constructs the logical model of this paper, analyzes qualitatively the role the governmental shadow plays in industry development from the perspective of strategic management.In order to investigate the correlativity of governmental shadow and autonomous brand, two important notions (the Shadow of Government and the Density of Autonomous Brand) were created and a quantitative related model was build. An empirical study on the relationship between the shadow of government and the lack of autonomous brand was made in this paper, and drew the main conclusion that correlativity does exist between the Shadow of Government and the Density of Autonomous Brand.This paper analyzes the mechanism of governmental shadow causing the lack of autonomous brand. The main reason is: in the shadow of government, for the large scale automobile state-owned enterprises, joint venture becomes one kind of monopolization resource, for the reason that the political object of enterpriser conflicts with the entrepreneurship, the shaded corporations lose their autonomous brands (a sort of Immizerizing Growth) while they give full play to the comparative advantages, rent- seeking exists in public choice, all these factors result in the failure of the "market exchange for technology" automobile industry's policy. According to the mechanism analysis, some suggestions are put forward: fair competition is the only way for the autonomous brands of China's car industry; autonomous brand is the reliable tool to facilitate industry upgrade; A sufficient competitive market, an impartial and high efficient government is obligatory for China's car autonomous brands.
