After we have studied the background knowledge of the international and domestic papers in the technological choice and innovation, we have made a decision to contribute our efforts to the theories of the technological innovation and to try to utilize the innovation theories in the innovation of the optoelectronic industry. The paper studied the applications of technological choice theories to high technology industries, based on the technological philosophy, technological innovation, technological economics and competitive theory. Considering the fact that high-tech has the unique feature of science-technology unification, the paper focused on technology trajectory, technology growth model and dynamic process of technology innovation. Combined with the discussion of technology choice principles, the paper established the technology choice index system for high-tech industries, laying the foundation for the technology choice of optoelectronic industry in our country.(1) Based on the studies of lifecycle theories of the economics, the paper first used Fourier transform method to calculate the frequency of the technological innovation and analyze the relation between the lifecycle and the innovation frequency. The relation is that the longer the product lifecycle or the industry lifecycle is, the lower the innovation frequency is, the more stable the technology of the main industries is.
